I'm about to buy a new pair of shoes for nursing school and Ive heard Dansko shoes are the best. Is this true? For those that own a pair of the Professional style and/or Marcelle style, can you please comment on them. Thanks!

I own a pair of white professional and i think they are amazing. I've recently started having arch problems and after wearing these shoes all day I have no pain at all. They feel a little odd at first because your foot is supposed to slip up and down in the back, but you get used to it. I think they were worth the investment.

I bought a pair of used Danksos clog type on ebay for $6. Figured I'd try them out before I invest in a brand new pair. I have had plantar fasciitis in the past and am looking for a shoe to prevent it from flaring up again.

I also just recently purchased a used pair on ebay for about $25 because I have had problems with my heel. I am def convinced and I plan on investing in a new pair for nursing school this Fall.

I have been a nurse for 23 years and yes, to me, they are the best. I have six pair. The only probelm is you never want to wear another shoe!
I also noticed that someone purchased a used pair. The only thing about that is that each foot is different and they do tend to mold to each individual. So if you don't like the used pair it may be simply because they have been worn by someone else.

I've read posts that some nurses love them and wouldn't wear anything else, then others didn't like them. I tried them, but couldn't get the sizing right and went with a pair of NurseMates (the style is Dove). They are a soft leather shoe and I find them to be very comfie.

I've heard only the best about them from my colleagues and wish I had invested, probably will soon. When I started I just bought white walking shoes from new balance and I hate them! They're so heavy, my feet just hurt. I usually wear Crocs and think they're great. not a whole lot of support but very light and comfortable.

Has anyone tried it? I want to get some Danskos, but I don't know if I can ride a bicycle in them.
Thanks.

I'd suggest just getting a small pannier to stick your Danskos in, and use your old shoes for biking. I bike 15 miles to my college on every weekday and carry a change of clothes and a pair of walking shoes in my panniers (I use cycling shoes, because my walking shoes are wider than I'd like).
Hey, good suggestion. Thanks!
You're very welcome. There are a few DIY panniers on instructables.com if you don't already have one.
