Hello everyone. I wanted to start a discussion for people who have applied to ARC , SCC, or both for the fall 2017 class. Applications for both schools are due at the end of the month. I applied for both, praying I get excepted. Anyhow, say hello and stay in touch with updates, info. Etc....
Thank you so much !!! This makes it so much easier! Tnx so much for taking the time and explaining the schedule. Now it really seems like it's doable ( of course after a number of hours studying). It's my 4th time applying to arc already and by now I have two little ones, was getting worried if it's even possible to do with kids and if its even worth to continue applying...
Plenty of my cohorts have kids and some have full time Jos because they have bills etc. there is a lot of studying you will need to do as there is a great deal of self teaching but it is doable. I work 2 days a week (4hr shifts each) just to get a break. If you have the will power and the dedication you can definitely make it work with kids. Good luck! You should be riding out soon as there is orientation on the 11th of may so I would say you should hear this week fingers crossed for you!
Hi Everybody! Good luck to everyone, I know this is an exciting and nerve racking time! I am in 4th semester at ARC, about to graduate in a few short weeks...super stoked for that! I have 3 kids, all in school, but I had to have the support of my extended family and neighbors and friends to help out with getting my kids too and from school. Like previous poster has stated, it is totally doable, but it is hard work. Relationships change, roles in the family change and you are going to have to have your family on board to support you with what ever you need. Often times your family does not understand that you do need to put in a lot of hours initially to study. I know that the professors have fellow students talk at the orientation about ways to manage your time, but I suggest that you have a planner, visible for everybody to see, and block out times that you need to study and schedule family stuff too. It is a hard adjustment. But so worth it in the end! This 2 years has gone by quickly and it is a surreal feeling that I am about to be done! If any of you have any questions, feel free to ask! Again, Good luck to you all!
Thank you for sharing and saying exactly what I needed to hear to keep me hoping!! I am so close to giving up, but now feels like got extra fuel to keep going and hopefully one day finally graduate as an RN! What do you recommend studying before school starts? What is the best way to prepare? Thank you for your time.!

Thank you so much for that!! I was beginning to think that RN student is in school everyday from 6:30 till 14:30 and then clinicals till 23:30...so as I understand students only meet on campus twice a week ( minday for lab and once for exam every 3rd week and every Tuesday for lecture? )
