Hello everyone. I wanted to start a discussion for people who have applied to ARC , SCC, or both for the fall 2017 class. Applications for both schools are due at the end of the month. I applied for both, praying I get excepted. Anyhow, say hello and stay in touch with updates, info. Etc....
So at orientation you will pick where you are going to go for clinicals (they have you draw a number out of a hat to choose your clinical group and then during the day you will have paperwork that you will be filling out for it which takes a little time), you get the run down on the books you'll need, you'll meet your classmates, you'll go around to a few different booths (rooms) to learn about coping strategies (stress, exercising), learn about resources available to you (RAD), you'll do some meditation, you'll meet your professors, you'll get a chance to see (and purchase if you want to) the clinical uniform (scrubs), you'll meet some of us from th Student Nurse Association (SNA) we will have badge holders that you need for clinical for purchase (If I remember correctly it is like $3 for all 4- different color for each semester). Can't remember what else but bring a little cash. It is a long day but goes by quickly and they try to make it interactive and fun throughout the day. Look forwarding to seeing you there I will be there with SNA.
Hey everyone, i received an email today from SCC saying i was selected as an alternate. I received my rejection email a couple weeks ago so i was not expected this email at all. I am curious, though, if anyone has any experience with being an alternate and what the odds are of me getting in for fall semester? I will be at orientation this friday, hope to see some of you there! Congratulations to everyone who was accepted, to all the alternates, as well. To those who were not selected, keep trying. I know i will if this doesn't end up being my year.

I was actually thinking why the orientation is so long?
