Hi everyone! I just received news today that I have been accepted into Azusa Pacific University's LVN to BSN program starting January 2015! Yay! I'm so excited and was wondering if anyone else has been accepted or have accomplished a nursing program at APU? I'm also from northern California and contemplating which areas to live and whether if I should find a room mate or apartment for living. Any tips will be very helpful! =)
Hello,
I have an interview coming for APU LVN-BSN program starting in May, and wanted to know about schedule of days & times for theory & clinical? I wanted to try to work during the program, and was told the first couple of weeks class is only once per week, however not sure about the rest of program? Any information on the program would be great!!
hello , well so far we have two classes and one with a lab , all once a week from 8-5. it leaves room for a job but who knows how long that will last. come the following terms we will have theory along with clinical and its of days and times of their choosing. the classes are pretty decent so far, work load is fair but be prepared to work.
I took most of my pre-reqs @ APU online Find Your Program - University College - Azusa Pacific University & @ community college.
Also if you take some at the community college & some at apu online you would save money & finish faster.
The RN program is about $45,000, however you can apply for grants which would significantly lower the price.
Hi, sorry so late! I haven't been on in forever and didn't receive any notifications. Right now my cohort is in the third semester with theory for 1 day and clinical for 1 day (that is how it was during the second semester as well). I know clinical days might increase to 2 days a week, with 1 theory day for the next semesters. I would definitely speak to an admissions representative at APU for clarification because each cohort and semester vary. Hope this helps!
Hi, I am applying to the May 2016 cohort LVN - BSN and I just got called for an interview that is scheduled for next Wednesday. Was wondering how you can prepare for this? Side note: I am not a Christian. I am very nervous right now and of all the schools I have applied, Azusa was the first to respond. My admission rep was extremely helpful throughout the process.
Hi valpal,
I know I stumbled pretty late into this forum, but I also landed an interview recently for the May 2016 cohort and was wondering if you have any tips on how to prepare for this. I am an LVN in managed care, which means I have no floor experience after I graduated from LVN school. Managed care field in SF Bay Area is expanding and are hiring new grads. Anyways, appreciate if you can give some insider tips.
Thanks : )

To add to places TheCommuter
mentioned, look into San Dimas and Glendora. These two places plus the places TheCommuter mentioned are all safe, decent areas to live. Of course some pockets are better than others as with any city, but none of these cities really have ghettos so you should be ok anywhere in them. It never really gets chilly compared to what you might be used to in NorCal. In the winter it usually runs in the low 60s during the day and high 30s at night. In the summer it frequently gets into the 90s and even 100s during the day though.
