Hello everyone,

I am in the process of applying to APU ELM program for Spring of 2019. I was just looking to connect to other applicants. I will be applying to the main campus. If anyone has any questions feel free to post, I have found the older forums from previous cohorts to be very helpful when looking for advice.

Community outreach but through the church. So like missionary work but I think it can be anything that helps the community but through the church.

This was one of the first questions they asked me too. Unfortunately I don't have any of this type of experience.

I don't remember going over this in my last interview.. I wish she had asked this for I've done missionary work in Mexico in the past!

Right! Had I known I woulda put I lived and worked in Australia for a year too. Oh well... she did say that just applying again makes a huge statement and it increases our chances. She said so many people don't get in their first time around.

Has everyone received a call for an interview?

I did recieve a call for an interview as well. I was actually in Costa Rica for a wedding and didn't have an international data package but figured after the third time that it was important lol. I'm going in early next week.

Thanks for all the tips and insight into their process! good luck all!

@aschreiman

As far as the IE campus goes, no I haven't heard anything from them yet. Im wondering if anyone else has?

@SomedayFNP Congrats! You sound like a really good candidate. I hope you get in! I hope we all do!

Thank you!! Honestly everyone is a good candidate! I bet it's so so hard to make that decision because everyone is SO qualified!

For those of you who have already had an interview, what questions where you asked?

I'd say the main questions they ask is why nursing and why APU. My first interview they asked more questions. They asked me to describe two traits of mine that lead me to believe I'll succeed in the program. They asked me to describe a time in healthcare I faced an ethical dilemma. They also asked what I like to do for fun.

But be sure to mention international experience and community outreach experience especially if it's through the church

I had my interview at the SD campus today but she didn't really go over the amount of points I had or how competitive I was as an applicant. I didn't even have time to ask her as there was another interview right after mine. I hope that isn't a bad thing. But yeah international and faith based experience was the first thing she mentioned
