APU ELM MSN Fall 2021

Published

Hello,

This is a forum for those who applied to APU ELM Fall 2021 program! I applied to the main campus.

Just received an email to schedule an online interview - anyone else?

I applied for the program too! I have an interview next week. Does anyone know their prior applicant statistics? Also, is everyone guaranteed an interview? Or only selected?

Not everyone is guaranteed an interview. And what do you mean by prior applicant statistics? GPA?

Oh really, well, I suppose I am thankful to get an interview! Yes, GPA, but I also couldn't find anywhere with their total number of applicants vs. accepted. I am curious since I noticed now too applicants from other cohorts being accepted into Fall 2021...

Does anyone know/did anyone ask when decisions would be made? Just curious... I would assume not until some time near the end of the year.

They said that the decisions would be made before Christmas. The person who interviewed me said that they were meeting in the beginning of December to discuss the applicants

So they will begin discussing in December , good to know! Hopefully we get an answer by end of December ? How was your test? Do you mind sharing how it went or what they asked you ?

I’m glad I found this page!! ? My interview is in two weeks but I’m already nervous LOL. Thanks to you brave souls who did your interview early!

Hey guys! I applied for Summer 2021 but got accepted for fall 2021. It was my second time applying, feel free to ask any questions! Some stats about myself: I had  a 3.5 non science GPA and a 3.2 science GPA, I’ve worked for 5 years as an emergency veterinary technician and volunteered in a nursing unit for 1 year. This just goes to show that grades don’t mean everything! They are definitely look for genuine, well rounded people. Good luck to everyone and I’m looking forward to our future cohort!

Hey! I was wondering if that GPA is cumulative or just based on your prereqs?

@prenursepauline Those were the GPAs from my prereqs, which were probably almost the exact same as my cumulative from my bachelors.

Hey guys!

Anyone else applied to the main campus? My interview is in 3 weeks and I am already so nervous ahhh!

@AKur94 what did you do differently when you applied the 2nd time? I’m curious in case I don’t get in on this go around. A little nervous also because my undergrad GPA is not great from 6 years ago but all my recent grades have been As and one B. Would like to hear some of your tips. Thanks!

@Monique CNA when I applied again I was told that they don’t usually do a second interview so I was just expecting to wait until acceptance letters went out. But I was asked to interview a second time and was able to formulate good responses to their questions since I had already been asked them before. To be honest, the second time around was a lot more relaxed, almost as if they already knew they were going to accept me because the interviewer went off topic a lot and started just talking about life and asking me questions about my job etc and not nursing stuff LOL.

I applied to the main campus and had my interview on Friday.  There's nothing to worry about - the interviewer is incredibly nice and friendly and you just have to talk about yourself!
