Hello Everyone :)
I am looking to apply for the Fall 2018 ELM program at APU. I'll be done with my bachelors early 2018 and finishing up Organic Chemistry before I submit my application. I'm making this post to see where other people are at looking to apply and we all can help each other out if needed. Good luck to everyone :)
For all those who have not received their interview call, just wanted to give you guys some update! I called the admissions, and they told me that the interview call is based on eligibility (in terms of GPA and courses taken)! So if know for sure you took all the required units of pre-req courses and have competitive GPA you will for sure get a call (and the hold-up is probably because of they didn't get the chance to review your application yet). But please do not quote me on this! LOL XP. Just wanted to let you guys know for those of you guys that are worrying over Thanksgiving! Also, he said that the interview calls will be going out until end of next 2 weeks! :)
@FutureRN3377 - I want to say the interview went well! It's not as formal as one might think which helped calm my nerves.I was first given the article writing sample task - they say they give you 25 minutes (but they don't specifically time you). I would suggest anyone else to arrive early enough to give yourself some time to finish writing and settle in! I finished a little early and the interviewer didn't mind seeing me early so my interview started early. It was about 45 minutes - it started out with the interviewer asking me some basic questions such as why nursing, advanced practice, etc. Then she moved on and talked a lot about what happens while I am in the program (if I am accepted), reviewing course schedules, classes, etc. The last part of it was mainly me just asking her a lot of questions. I had prepared a list of items I wanted to ask her about so I went down the list! Overall I feel I got good vibes so crossing my fingers!
My last question was about timelines and she said interviews proceed through mid-December so those who haven't heard yet, don't worry there's still plenty of time! She said decisions will start rolling out mid-January so from now until January I will be waiting.. very.. anxiously!
Good luck to those who have interviews scheduled!!
