I am currently applying for Azusa Pacific Univsity's Entry Level Master's program for a start date of Fall 2014. The deadline is coming up quickly! If anyone else is applying now, feel free to add!
@ktierney02 I tried looking for the group on FB and I couldn't find it! I was trying to look for you as well, but there were many people with your name and none of them listed your university as their school. =//. I tried PMing you back, but the forum said I couldn't PM people until I have 15 posts haha. -.-.
@Tina N
Yea...perhaps..but they also have spots open from previous cohorts for whatever reason..so maybe it balances out? Not really sure. APU didn't specifically state anything but I just tailored my letter to the Dean to the school. Hope that helps!
@drm2013
I didn't do that well in my undergrad..about a 3.1 GPA, but I was not really a science major so I took all of my Science prerequisites at a local community college after I graduated. My prerequisite GPA was 4.0 though so that might have balanced it out. I volunteered in the same CCE program that @jsala013 did and held leadership positions there. I also joined a pre health club at the community college where I went and held leadership positions there as well. I don't have other hospital experience other than that, but my LORs definitely helped me. One from the manager of the internship, one from the club advisor, and one from my current boss. Hope that helps!! :))) I know of people who weren't originally selected that were called back later on because they had spots open! Good luck! :))).
Hi everyone!
Thank you for your sharing experiences! I would like to please ask that how long from the time you got the phone call to your interview date? One week, or three weeks or maybe up to a month in between? And how long did you prepare for the interview beforehand?
I want to focus all my time right now into the application process and want to start preparing for the interview AFTER I SUBMIT my application. Would this be enough time and how did everyone prepare for it?
Thank you sooooo much again for your time and consideration! :)
Hi Tina
I think it was a couple of weeks after submitted my application until I was called for an interview. I got offered a spot about a week after my interview and I have heard of people who have been offered a spot at the end of the interview. I didn't really spend much time preparing for the interview, but I did spend a lot of time writing my personal statement... about 2 months or so.
The interview is quite chilled so I wouldnt really stress over it, the writing sample is to see that you basically didnt get someone else to write the personal statement. Apparently people in the past have had others write their personal statements...
What is awesome about APU is that they are honest with you and tell you where you stand... so you will basically find out if you have a good chance or not of getting in at your interview.
I think the number one thing is to get your applications in early. I got mine in 1 month early. Because there is only a limited number of interview spots... and you must get an interview to have any chance of getting in. I think they reserve like 1 hour for each interview and the interviewer at Monrovia only did interviews on Wednesdays, so if you do the math there are not many interview spots available.
Good luck to you :)

Hi everyone. I know a lot of people applied Fall 2013 and are accepted for Spring 2015 instead of Fall 2014. Out of curiosity, won't this lower the chances of people applying this Spring 2014 (since the cohort for Spring 2015 is already filling up with applicants even before the deadline has passed)?!
And also, does anyone know if Azusa specifically states any prompts/questions (like a outline or guide) they want to see answered in our personal statement? Or what ever we write is entirely up to us?
Thank you for your advice!
