Applying for UCF Spring 2012 Basic BSN Program (Cocoa)

Published

Just wanted to start a group where applicants for UCF's BSN program can go for moral support as well as information. As those who have applied or are planning on applying know, the deadline is July 1st. We shouldn't expect to hear anything back for atleast 6 weeks from what I heard. The suspense! Good luck everyone! :)

I know a few people from Daytona already got their letters in the mail. Have y'all heard back?

Here's a thread for Daytona! I'm in the class ahead of you guys and posted a bunch of info people were asking questions about, so if you have any, ask them here and I'll answer them as quickly as possible! :)

I am waiting as well to hear back from UCF Daytona campus. I have been accepted at Daytona State's ADN program and have attended the orientation and have my classes ready to start Aug 29th. I really want to go to UCF though and receive my BSN...the waiting is killing me and if I get in and decline my seat at DSC, it doesn't give anyone a real chance of taking my spot and getting my seat. This is so frustrating! Of those of you who got your acceptance/denial letters, can you tell me what your GPA's were? Thank you!

I am also waiting to hear back from UCF Cocoa as well as BCC (I have heard more positive things about UCF though). Can't wait until the letters started pouring in!

Still waiting...I have turned into an email checking maniac! The mailman also thinks I am stalking him lol. I did email UCF college of nursing, asking them if a decision had been made yet, and they sent me back a response saying that acceptance letters will be mailed out 6-8 weeks after the application deadline. That would make it Aug 15th through Sept 1st so I guess we have another week or so to wait. Hopefully not that long though!

I have also heard that someone received their acceptance letter for Daytona on August 5th... Weren't we told nothing would be sent until at least the 15th??? I'm soooo confused! I'm still waiting on either an acceptance or denial for Daytona and am really stressing here. Now I have to wait until Monday to call. Oh well =(

I heard that a few people got their acceptance/denial letters early as well. Please let me know if you actually get a response as to yes or no when you call the college of nursing. I emailed them, and they wouldn't tell me anything at all. Maybe if you speak to an actual person on the phone you will have better luck. If you do, I'll be calling them too!!! My problem is that I'm supposed to start Daytona State's RN program in a week, and have to buy books and uniforms etc etc for that program. If I do get in to UCF, I will have wasted a lot of money, which is something I'm not too fond of doing! :)

I would wait to buy your supplies before getting a decision from UCF. What is your GPA/teas scores like? I am so worried now because if others got the acceptance letters already, shouldn't we have also if we were accepted? It is so unfair to notify some WEEKS earlier than others. August 5th just seems way too early to hear anything. Anyway, I am going to call first thing Monday morning and try and get some info, and I will let you know as soon as possible. Good luck, hopefully we will be classmates in January. =)

I'm glad you are going to call...maybe we can all breathe a little easier knowing something! My cumulative GPA was 3.85 but I had grade forgiveness for a class I failed in the 1990's that UCF would not accept because when I applied, I was still in the final class for my AA degree, so that brought my cumulative GPA down to a 3.4. I had all A's on all my prereq's and an 87 TEAS test score. I was so upset about UCF not accepting my GPA, but there was no way to change it. Now that my AA is earned, they would have accepted the higher one :( What was your GPA/TEAS? I think that there is a cut off hovering really close to my GPA, but you never know from class to class. Are you checking your Knights email as well as your regular email? I've heard they contact you that way before you get your letter sometimes.

Im sorry to hear they wouldn't accept your higher GPA, that is really too bad. I have a cumulative GPA right around 3.4 as well. My TEAS score was 84.7. I am really nervous about my GPA/teas scores but am praying its good enough to get in. Although they do look at just the Science pre req GPA as well so that makes me feel a bit better since I have a 4.0 in that area. I have been checking my personal email as well as knights mail and have gotten nothing yet. I will post here immediately when I hear. Best of luck to you.

You too! Looks like we are in exactly the same boat. I will post as soon as I know/hear anything as well. :)

I found out the girl who posted that she was accepted really only received her general admittance letter to the university. Whew! I was really stressing there for a minute...Hopefully decisions are sent in the next few days. This waiting is torturous...

Wow...that really had me worried!!! Glad you found that out! Fingers crossed for us that we find out tomorrow! The waiting is really hard, plus I just spent over a thousand dollars between uniforms/supplies/textbooks over the weekend for Daytona State's RN program that I am scheduled to start Monday Aug 29th. I made sure everything is refundable in hopes that I will be taking it back and buying UCF uniforms. :0 Thank you for keeping us up to date as you hear anything. I will too. Knowing that there are others waiting and hoping (and stalking the mailman) really helps.
