I applied to Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing..took the NET and received great scores:yeah: and now, waiting to set-up interview with school.
Anywone else applying and waiting to hear back? Anyone already go through their interview? I'm interested in waiting with other applicants!
This is my top choice and I'm ready to be accepted!! :D
@Lee17 -- absolutely sounds like you're looking at the right factors - MCC's program is definitely one of the better ones in the state, and you have to go with the right choice for your unique situation... if you do end up going with MCC, let me know which pre/co-reqs you haven't done yet, I could give you some recommendations on the best professors for each of them that I got from a member of the Nursing program selection committee (very off the record of course LOL) - I've taken her advice and been happy with all of my pre/co-reqs 110% :-)
@Nancy_S -- congratz on getting accepted, even if it is waiting list... that's still an achievement these days honestly -- I know a good number of friends who haven't gotten that far... keep the faith, the right door will open
@ Nancy...WorkingClassDog is right. A waiting list is nothing to be ashamed of as I too know quite a few fellow students who have not gotten that far...It's hard and you should be proud of yourself! I also know you feel a little discouraged because you want it now, but everything will work out for you...
@ WorkingClassDog...i still need A&P 2 as well as micro...I know Bogner is great but not available for A&P 2...Who did you take for those 2 classes?
Congrats to all those entering MHSON this summer/fall! I just graduated June 15th and I can tell you that I've had the best experience. Even though your faculty will be different from mine (due to all the changes over the past year), I'm confident that you all will still get the same quality education and clinical experience! I see LovelyMo has helped a lot of you guys with her posts. I haven't been on the site for QUITE some time lol, but I was doing some research and happen to see this discussion going...
@Lee17 -- for A&P2, I had****** - she was awesome - definitely go with ***** or ******as first choices, ****** is also good according to some of my friends - although she can be a bit blunt -- beyond them, there are a lot of profs you'd want to *avoid* for A&P - check ratemyprofessor.com - the ones you'd want to not take stand out pretty clearly
For Micro, hands down you will want to *fight* to get ******** - she is awesome and could easily be teaching anywhere - complete pro, great/clear lecturer, and very fair grader - I've had her this summer and loved the class -- if you can't snag a seat in her section (and it is hard, she fills extremely quick) go with *****, she teaches nights but works in a similar method to ******* and they've done projects together
@WorkingClassDog...lol You basically told me what I already knew...*********are not teaching A &P 2 unfortunately...And because of our Fall nursing courses we do not have a lot of options...Looks like we will get an adjunct again for the evening class. I was in touch with Prof. ******* about the Fall semesters A & P 2 professors as she helped give me some guidance with A & P 1. I was debating on doing Micro instead for Fall but she advised me they are switching the A & P books again for Spring...MCC has some racket going...
I also heard about ********...Will check into **** but read good things about that professor also...I was going to take A & P as a summer course but opted out because of the teachers.Almost took Micro and we probably would have met, but decided to do the online PSY Lifespan instead...Oh well
"]Just wanted to send a message saying thanks for everyones positive comments during my time of frustration. I am overwhelmed with joy to tell you that I got a call yesterday and a spot opened up for me for this Fall 2011 class I have been running around all day today: uniforms, physicals, paperwork galore but at this point I am ready for anything this is a dream come true and I never thought this would happen but that's life right?
Thanks again,
mandifresh:)

Hi Nancy,
Don't give up....I would keep calling until someone answered... I know that sounds like your being a pain, but your not.. Sometimes I would call 4 times before someone answered...Just keep the faith...
