Applying to Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing?

I applied to Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing..took the NET and received great scores:yeah: and now, waiting to set-up interview with school.

Anywone else applying and waiting to hear back? Anyone already go through their interview? I'm interested in waiting with other applicants!

This is my top choice and I'm ready to be accepted!! :D:D

Nothing from nothing...anyone know whats up with the clock on this website? It is 1pm N.J. time and it lists my posts 4 hrs. later....

Even though you are not accepted into this upcoming class you are still accepted into the 2012, that's still acceptance and you got in. That's good news. Also, are you done with all your pre-reqs? Don't be so hard on yourself and discouraged. If you didn't apply to other schools, I learned the hard way to put all my eggs into one basket. Don't give up!

@Lee17 - I was able to locate the latest report from NCLEX pass rates in NJ to compare -- it's out there online, just takes some digging, I'll probably post the link in a sep thread for everyone to be able to grab -- going from '07 to '10 --

MCC has:

94.55% (2007) 80.56% (2008-last UMDNJ yr) 97.44% (2009) 94.12% (2010)

Average of 91.66% for 4 yrs

Muhlenberg has:

90.67% (2007) 92.11% (2008) 95.51% (2009) 94.32% (2010)

Average of 93.15% for 4 yrs

So on pass rates alone they are pretty dead even. I was aware that RBMC is going for Magnet As for the fall, I'm in Nurm119 on Thurs 9a-12p and then lab from 1-2pm -- hehe I'm older as well, so you're probably closer to my age than you think :D

I had heard that RBMC was going for Magnet status, but that has some negatives associated with it... namely, hospitals focusing on it tend to lean toward hiring only BSN's from what I've been reading... so that didn't score as a positive for me.

Hi Nancy, Have you heard anything yet...I didn't receive the package yet but I got a call today in regards to the challenge exam for the nurse assistant course.The exam is next Monday So if I pass I'm exempt from taking it.

Nancy, If I were u, i wouldn't worry because Mrs * had told u to keep the month of july open meaning that you"re in. I too haven't received the package yet. I spoke to mrs L last Friday she told me they mailed them out on thursday. So I will give it a few days days.

I get what you are saying but I've been praying and doing my best for several years trying and hoping to ge into a program.... I really want to believe I am accepted but I am waiting for that letter. That letter is the proof in the pudding....

Wake up tomorrow and call Mrs. L*.. she sometimes gets very busy. Put yourself at ease..otherwise the waiting will kill you....don't give up!!

Hey Guys...take a deep breath! It's not over till it's over and you are making yourself crazy. And if you don't get in this Fall, it is still not over!!! You just keep trying and you WILL GET ACCEPTED!!!

@ WorkingClassDog....today I am leaning towards MCC...Not sure Muhlenberg is worth the additional $14000 plus extra classes for a 2 yr. degree. A very wise person told me yesterday, yes they have a better schedule for me to work BUT...I will need to work those extra days to pay the difference in tuition....lol

Thanks for posting the NCLEX pass rates...I searched & searched and kept coming up blank...Also...we may be close in age but I still bet i have a few yrs. on you...I'm a late bloomer,lol. Passed the 1/2 century mark not to long ago...God Help Me....LOL

So see guys...It could be worse...You could be me, just starting out!

Best of luck to all! Lee17 you have to do what's best for you. What is your gut saying to do? That wise person you spoke to makes a lot of sense...lol. What you put in is what you get out.

As for me I called MHSON and no answer----and no reply :crying2: Still waiting for mail.
