I am in the process for applying for a license, but the directions say that a notary public must stamp my application, as well as witness my signature. How do I go about finding a notary public for this act? I have never used such a service.
Thanks for your help in this matter!!! :Melody:

Go to your bank. Usually there is one or more employs who are notary publics. Also, check your local library.

Most banks and credit unions should have a notary public that works there and it is likely that your bank should offer that service for free. Give them a call or stop by. Good luck!

Like the others said, banks all have notaries available. In fact, in my bank, every person behind a desk has an NP license. Don't get sucked into someplace that charges 15 or 20 dollars. If you have an account, notary service is usually free.
I was a notary for several years for my church, all it means is that someone has checked an ID and verified the person signing is actually that person. In my state, we are also supposed to put the person under oath, swearing that everything in the document is true/correct; I've never had anyone else do it when I needed something notarized (can't be your own notary), but I always put my folks under oath, just like the book says.
Most hospitals also have notaries, especially if your state still requires living wills to be notarized.

I got mine at my bank (Bank of America). Easy. She checked my ID and watched me sign. Free. Fast.

Go to your bank. If you work at a hospital, or even do clinical there, you might be able to find a list of people who work at the hospital who are notaries.
