Applying for Duke ABSN fall 2016

Hello, I am applying to Duke's ABSN program for the fall of 2016 and am wanting to chat with anyone else who is in the same boat! I'm wondering how hard it will be to get in based on GPA, prereqs etc.

Are there any current Duke students who would be wiling to share what their profile looked like before they got in? If they were wait-listed and got in?

Any information would help!

A little about me.

4.0 student-athlete at Santa Rosa Junior College in Northern California. Transferred to UCSD and majored in psychology with the intention of going to medical school (3.83 GPA). Licensed CNA but haven't really worked as one due to a heavy school load. Currently finishing pre-reqs at a community college in Newport Beach, CA. I haven't applied anywhere else yet...Duke's application deadline is super early compared to ABSN programs in CA! It's most likely the only out of state school I'll apply to because I'm definitely a "California girl." I just really love everything about Duke (besides the price).

Has anyone received the email about the Spring 2016 nursing info session next Monday? I applied for spring 2016 ABSN program but was wait-listed. I received the info on duke days reminder and the financial aid but a little worried on why they emailed me the info. Did anyone else receive this??

Did you mean Spring 2017 (I'm confused about the dates)? I didn't receive it (I'll let you know if I do), but I'm sure it doesn't mean anything - they're automated emails that get sent out to people who give their email addresses - I don't think the admissions office has the time to go through whose on each email list.

Good luck with your application, and try not to over-think things! We'll know when we know, there's nothing left to do now but wait (I hate waiting!).

She told me that decisions will be posted to our SISS account the week of the 18th so we still have some time yet. Also, the invitation for the information session went to all Fall 2016, Spring 2017 and Fall 2017 applicants.

Week of the 18th!? That's a Friday… so confused! I didn't get the info session email, either. Would someone mind posting it to the board? I'm curious as to what it said!
