Applied today, we'll see what happens

Nursing Students Western Governors

Published

I applied today and I"m looking to start in the Fall, maybe August or September. I was hoping to complete my BSN in 6 months, but maybe that's not doable anymore.

I have some other college classes from 4 year university's (history, statistics, 2 health assessment classes, sociology), so I'm hoping they transfer over in addition to my ADN degree classes. I do have one question though. What the heck is BioChem? I took chemistry and micro with a lab for my ADN, so do I or will I need to take this BioChem class? Just wondering. I'm hoping most of my classes transfer over and I'm only left with the nursing classes.

Any input is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure they're about 3-4 months behind, due to huge enrollment numbers. So if you applied at the end of May, I would plan on not being able to start until maybe September. When I applied in late December/early January (for the MSN program) I was told that an April start was the earliest they would be able to get me in.

I had the initial call with the EC today. He did not seem to think a July 1 start would be a problem if my transcripts were in by next week. So I am hoping that will work out. I did see where the applicants at the begining of the year had to wait. Maybe the summer admissions are not as large?

Could be! Or maybe they've hired more staff. :)

I applied in late April and am starting June 1st if that helps! Good luck!

I was asked about a July 1st start date as well, and was told it was possible if my transcripts were in too...but I told them I wanted Aug or Sept to start...I want my summer off, lol...

On another note, if your transcripts are not in, we may be starting at the same time.

My push to start is because if I have to take 2 math courses, I want to do it with my son home from college so I have a live-in tutor. He is a math wiz....

I am starting June 1 and I applied around the first of may, so they really aren't far behind at all..

That is good to hear featherzRN. I was just notified that received my first transcript. The other 2 were mailed today. I expect them to get to WGU the begining of next week.

Keeping my fingers crossed!

I am starting (I hope) Aug 1. Waiting on transcripts. Is there a limit on how old courses can be for general ed classes like histories, humanities, psychologies?

Excited to meet people doing the same program!

mykidsmom65- they took all of my credits (except stats) as far back as 1983.

I have not seen any limits on any course other than stats which has a 5 year limit.

I'm sitting and "patiently" waiting on my transcript eval...hopefully by the end of the week..we will see. I have been accepted, so now I just have to decide if I want the August 1st start date or not. My enrollment counselor told me I should have my transcript eval by the end of the week, so I hope she it correct.
