Hi Everyone,
I've recently applied for the rpn programs at the following colleges
I've tried a few times for rpn but I either withdrew my application or didn't get accepted with my marks. I really felt like giving up cause I've completed highschool, I've upgraded my marks and now I'm an adult with adult bills and a job LOL so I don't have time BUT I MADE THE TIME.
I actually intended on applying for RN but soon realized that maybe I can give RPN a try again.
My question for anyone reading this is:
Will I be marked different as I've upgraded my marks to highschool University marks? As their prerequisites are college ?
ENG4U 78, MDM4U 76, ENG3U 72, SBI4U 75, SCH4U 73
Has anyone done this?
Also, has anyone received their acceptance?

Have you tried applying as a mature student. I didn't even have a HS diploma. Or you could do the one year pre health science program

Hi, theres not really a difference between wether you’ve taken university or college level's because both are still high school and both meet the school's requirements, since RPN is college level it doesn’t matter, but you wouldn't be able to get into a RN program will college level high school courses.
I'm in my last semester of the GBC PN program and it is a highly competitive program so applying for the May start will be your best bet. I also applied 3 years after graduating from high school so I was a mature student but its the high school marks that they accept you off of.
You've already graduated from high school and I'm assuming that you're over 19 so you would be considered a mature student anyways which is fine. My high school marks were relatively the same as yours and I got accepted into GBC, so hopefully you get accepted, and there is an interview portion for GBC too! But hopefully this helps and I hope you get in!
And if you do plan on bridging over to RN you cant have any fails in nursing courses while in your rpn program, or it will limit your choices; so if you can just get in to a RN program from the jump then I would recommend that you do that, because the admission requirements for the RPN to RN bridging programs are only getting harder.

Hello,
I was told that a few schools will add 10% more to your overall GPA if u took uni level courses. I know lambton, st clair and mohawk does that. It's on their pages.

hi there!! I'm currently in the GBC PN program, in my last semester. I feel like I was in a similar situation to you. However, I had completed my university degree in Kinesiology, realized it wasn't for me, and wanted to pursue nursing (RN). I applied to accelerated programs and didn't get in. I thought about doing RPN programs but I knew they would look at high schools grades and mine were low in high school. Like a few 80s here and there but a 75 and a 50 in Chemistry (these were all 12U courses). So I actually did pre-health science at George Brown and got A+ in every course and applied to GBC's practical nursing program. I got accepted, and I contacted the admission officer because I realized my offer wasn't conditional to me finishing my pre-health certificate. What the admission officer told me is that they didn't even look at my pre-health grades and admitted me off my high School marks! 8 months wasted for nothing LOL But your grades are good and they are university level courses, so colleges take that into account. I think you will be fine. The real thing to worry about is the video interview for the nursing program. That is the deciding factor on whether you will be accepted or not.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I've been told the video interview is scary for some. I hope I do have the chance at the interview.
I've heard back from one other school which I did get accepted to! Just waiting to hear back from a few more.

was wondering which college you got an offer so far? I applied to Seneca, and Humber too. I also applied to GBC too but...application wasn't met due to my Pre-health Chemistry didn't qualify their Chemistry requirement yet accepted my Pre-health Biology.

Hey there!
I'm still waiting for humber, geroge brown, and centennial college.
I received an offer for seneca for Sept 2021.
Hang in there, I've been reading forums of people who got early acceptance because they applied in Nov, Dec of last year.

Hello ^^
Does seneca require us to take any admission test? Was just wondering about it. I got an offer from Durham College but am waiting for the remaining ones.
I think given coronavirus I believe they wouldn't right now. However, I met all my requirements so I wasn't asked to do any admission test.
Hope this helps and congrats on your offer!
