Applications--Type to not to Type?

Published

Hey guys!!

So finally feel comforable (almost with the essays), and now trying to type up application that I've had written out almost for forever. Unfortunately, typewriter's not working, there is NO BUSINESS in the city that does typing services anymore, and even if I could, not sure some things would fit in the boxes (Classses, Schools, You know what I mean).

So I'm trying to find a way to use my computer to fill in the application that I downloaded from the website. So far, the only thing that lets you do ANYTHING is Adobe. However, it doesn't let you do much (IE, type in spaces--you can only type on the same line as something that is there).

So I guess what I'm asking is:

1. Does anyone know what the heck I'm talking about with Adobe and how to do this, or any other program I can get for this?

2. What did you guys do with your application? Typed or Written? to me, it looks more professional, and shows the amount of work I've put into it. So this is driving me crazy!

Thanks so much for ANY help or feedback guys!! :balloons:

just wondering. do i smell or something?

i always try and help everyone with their questions. it just kinda hurts my feelings that everyone pretty much ignores mine. am i asking the wrong ones, or freaking out too much, or what? :D

Your post sounds a bit confusing the way your wrote it. hmmm.... I somewhat understand what you are talking about the Adobe, but I don't know how to help you with that one. Sorry. I would think you could rent a typewriter and do it that way,.... or maybe just get one at a secondhand store. I would think typing it up would be the way to go. Good luck! ;)

I wonder if you're not getting answers because no one else knows how the heck to make those %$^# computers work, either! (Dang it all, my smilies aren't working....another topic, I know)

Let's see.... do you have Microsoft Word? Sometimes downloadable applications will work in Word. One thing I've done which is a ROYAL pain is copy and pase application into Word (save pdf as rtf file so filename.rtf) and try to manipulate it from there. Another way I've done it is to copy pdf file to the computer's basic text clipboard and then transfer it into Word. In Word you can use text boxes and paste them over whatever is on the original document.

Hope that helps some, or at least gives you some ideas.

Sorry, Peachy...I thought I smelled something, but it wasn't you. :chuckle

Actually, I mostly look at the one page to see if there are any responses to posts I've already posted on. (Because I'm supposed to be studying chemistry...lol) Also, many people are at school or work during the day, so posting can be slower during the daytime. :)

I wrote mine out. Ours is in Adobe, but I don't own it, therefore couldn't type my info.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU! :)

Thanks guys!!!:bowingpur :bowingpur :bowingpur

It's just me being paranoid. As the due date draws nearer, and I find more things to second-guess and the more I lose sleep, the crazier I get.

but not before I say, Fun2Care, CANNOT wait for that post day after tomorrow!!! :biggringi

I know how you feel, and it is COMPLETELY understandable.

I know for myself, I started college back in 1991 heading towards nursing school. I didn't finish, so actually getting to the point of applying was a HUGE accomplishment!

It is a very nervous time. Take a deep breath; You're going to be ok! :)

Thanks, btw! I hope I do get my letter Saturday, but it could be sometime next week. (I wouldn't mind going to the school tomorrow to pick the letter up & save them a stamp!) :rotfl:

Have a great night!!!!!!!

Thanks guys!!!:bowingpur :bowingpur :bowingpur

I'd write mine out....nice and neat....handwriting says alot about a person, and it might get someone's attention in a positive way.....I believe it shows more effort to handwrite, it's more personal!

I love peaches :)

That's a good perspective on it, stpauligirl. ...Take your time, and write very neatly....OK, that's my advice to myself. I guess not everone writes as messy as I do. LOL

I was afraid that they would get into a serious altercation.....I feel more in control since I started taping his lectures and I am pretty calm at this point. We have our next lab test next Thurs, so I will study until my brain explodes to remember every last little detail
