Application asks if I am Licensed or Registered. What does that mean?

Published

Hi,

I just took the NCLEX and passed. I submitted the paperwork and fee to the Board of Nursing to get my license. I haven't received it in the mail yet. I was filling out this online application and it asks are you currently "registered" "licensed" or "certified". And then it says Are you eligible to be "registered" "licensed" or "certified"....

What am I supposed to choose? I'm so confused. Btw, this is my first job application. Please be kind.

Thank you

Maybe Licensed is LPN. Registered is RN. Idk about certified? That maybe related to a CNA.

If you passed the NCLEX RN, you are a registered nurse. Even if you don't have the actual license in your hand, you are. In my state (PA) we can look up our name on the BON website and see our license number posted, so when I was applying before I received my license in the mail, I was using that number, but I did not know the exp date so I left it blank if it asked for it. See if there is a box to add any extra info on the application and just write in there that you sat for NCLEX on (date) and passed and you are awaiting your license number and exp date. Good luck!

Thank you. So, i guess i'll choose "registered" for the first option and leave the rest because it doesn't make any sense. Maybe they use the same application for LPNs too.

Anyway, thank you both for the help!
