I know that it's early, but I really wanted to get a jump on this. I have read the past two years' threads from start to finish and have seen the amazing support given by everyone involved. Considering how competitive it is for nursing school admission, it is extremely informative and heart-warming. I will be applying to all the schools in the Portland/Salem area to which I will qualify. This next year is going to be rough, but ever since I started on this journey I have loved every moment.
A little about me:
Again, I know this is early, but I look forward to seeing the responses from everyone!
I just finished my last interview today. I had PCC last week, MHCC yesterday, and CCC today. Busy- busy -busy and now we wait :) I feel good about my interviews and I hope that the responses from the schools reflect that! Good luck to those still interviewing. It sounds like we'll begin to hear from the schools in May! *fingers crossed*
for those of you applying to PCC I am a member of the 2015 cohort and all I can say is this: if you get in somewhere else DO NOT CHOOSE PCC. It is the most disorganized, disrespectful, catty, bullying program. The professors are unprofessional, the standards are sub par, and it is a complete waste of your time and money. If you get in to OHSU and think, well I will go to a CC for those first 2 years to save money - DONT DO IT. GO TO OHSU. WE have terrible clinical sites, the teaching methods are ridiculous (we lost 10 classmates alone flunking out of patho and pharm last term). I have classmates that got into other schools whop are kicking themselves now. I dont care if PCC is closer, cheaper, more convenient. Think LONG AND HARD before you decide to join this program.
I just had my CCC interview yesterday, I feel it went very well and the ladies were very nice and made me feel comfortable inspite the gut renching nervousness lol. Now the waiting game, I noticed that CCC sent their acceptance emails by May 9th last year so I am hoping for the same timeline. This is going to be the longest 2.5 weeks ever. Good luck to you all and thank you for posting your experiences its great to know I am not alone.
Hi all, I am new to the thread. I just want to congratulate all of the hopefuls on here who have committed themselves to all of the hard work and dedication it takes just to get to the point of applying to various nursing programs! I am applying to Portland area schools this fall to begin Fall of 2015. Good luck to you all; I know you've put in countless hours to get to this point and that is very admirable in and of itself.
This waiting feels like forever! The staff at CCC said they hope to let us know by the end of the month!
I did the same thing as you JaymeeL. I went into previous threads and tried to figure out a time frame. I think PCC knew by May 8th last year, OHSU by May 4th, May 9th for CCC. At least those were the earliest dates that anyone posted an acceptance.
I feel good about my interviews and essays, although I can't help but be nervous. I know that there are a LOT of really excellent applicants.
In the meantime I am making friends with my stats book. We have a complicated relationship.
