Applicants to Portland area schools 2011

How's everyone doing with their Apps?

I applied to MHCC, CCC, PCC and Linfield.

It's my first year applying and I'm a nervous wreck!!!

How long does it usually take to hear whether or not you got an interview?

I was glad to see CCC changed their deadline to Feb 15th like the other OCNE schools-I think it'll make the waiting more bearable!

Anyone else want to share points to see how tight the competition is this year?

Other than Mt. Hood, I don't get too many discretionary points. :(

Heres what I *think* I have (figuring them myself):

MHCC-63 points

CCC-50 or 51 points depending on how they round up your gpa

PCC-54 points

Good luck everyone!!!

Let the nail biting, stalking the mailbox begin! :lol2:

Before we know it that fateful day will come. No matter the outcome, I'm sure all of us will embrace the success and endure the disappointment whatever the news may be. Life will go on.

GinnyM, PCC's website says that the proctored essays will be held on the 19th and 21st, no rescheduling allowed. So not too much time! And I don't believe there is an interview - the nursing webpage describes the essay briefly...

Yes, I really doubt PCC will wait to mail out letters a few days prior to scheduled essays.

Yeah, it seems pretty hard to believe. Maybe they meant more like next week the letters will go out? That would still give applicants 2 weeks to set their schedule...

This just in RE: Linfield's Facebook Community Group (via Mindy)

"Letters went to the post office today! You can start stalking the mailman now. Sometimes things take longer going through the Legacy mailroom, so give it a week before you start calling me, okay? I'll be out of town all next week anyway..."

Woohoo!! :lol2:

Yay!!!! I wonder how much time the transition through the mailroom will add to the delivery of letters? Is is too unrealistic of me to expect something by tomorrow?

I know.. I saw that, too! Yay!

And no, I fully expect a letter by tomorrow :)

Man, I'm not sure what is worse. Knowing they were mailed out, or the suspense of complete surprise! This is still really stressful.

I had just read Ginnym81's post on Linfield when the mail carrier walked up. No letter today ;-( But hey, that's ok, so long as the carrier brings the *right* acceptance letter to me tomorrow!

I got into Linfield for Fall 2012!! And it's paid for Yay!!!!!!! :)

Cool, so you got a full scholarship?

That's awesome! Explain the paid for part- did you apply for a scholarship?
