Applicants to Portland area schools 2011

U.S.A. Oregon

How's everyone doing with their Apps?

I applied to MHCC, CCC, PCC and Linfield.

It's my first year applying and I'm a nervous wreck!!!

How long does it usually take to hear whether or not you got an interview?

I was glad to see CCC changed their deadline to Feb 15th like the other OCNE schools-I think it'll make the waiting more bearable!

Anyone else want to share points to see how tight the competition is this year?

Other than Mt. Hood, I don't get too many discretionary points. :(

Heres what I *think* I have (figuring them myself):

MHCC-63 points

CCC-50 or 51 points depending on how they round up your gpa

PCC-54 points

Good luck everyone!!!

Let the nail biting, stalking the mailbox begin! :lol2:

Cirquefoil, did you get a phone call along with your letter?!

I haven't received a point letter from CCC, should I be worried? I know my essay is scheduled for April 16th....

How did you get an essay scheduled with CCC prior to finding out what your points are?

About a month ago I got a letter in the mail telling me when my essay is scheduled for. I know they are doing them on the 9th and the 16th. One of my friends received the same letter. It also says they will notify me of my essay score through email by May 13th. That's about it!

That's interesting. I'd not heard anything like that before. So what did you come to the table with? I mean, did you max out the points?

Kamaboko and Gardenstt....maybe you guys are referring to two different schools? I know Clackamas and Chemeketa are both often referred to as CCC and their application processes are different from each other. Good luck to you both! ;)

Swilly you're so smart. :) That's probably the case haha! I am talking about Chemeketa. I'm not really sure what my points would be, I try not to over-analyze that. I'm sure they're not "maxed out" though..... but Chemeketa does count A's and B's the same for the BI classes.

OK, now I understand. I was thinking Clackamas Community College.

Yeah, kind of a stupid move on my part, coming into the Portland Area schools thread!

I finally caved and talked to PCC and MHCC about when the letters would be coming. They both said the second week of April. MHCC said to expect it around the 15th. I'm so ready to get my letter! Just thought I would pass on the info for anyone else who is anxiously waiting...

Thanks for the info, NurseToBe3! I applied to PCC and have been wondering when they were going to send out notifications. I also applied to Linfield and the wait is killing me! Apparently their letters are going out very soon. Good luck to you!

Me too! I've been anxious since I turned in all my applications! Now that it's down to the wire, I'm so, so impatient! I'm secretly hoping Linfield's letters will come tomorrow, or Saturday. That is not rooted in any actual knowledge, unlike the poster above who called... Thanks for that info! I got an email a month ago from OHSU's OCNE program that said we wouldn't hear on decisions until the first week of June ::faint::

THANK YOU!!!!

I can relax a bit now! haha

Kind of disappointing at the same time that it's taking that long but it's nice to know. I wonder when interviews will be held then?

Anyone from previous years of applying/interviews.....how long do they give you to prepare? A week? A few days?
