Applicants to Portland area schools 2011

Published

How's everyone doing with their Apps?

I applied to MHCC, CCC, PCC and Linfield.

It's my first year applying and I'm a nervous wreck!!!

How long does it usually take to hear whether or not you got an interview?

I was glad to see CCC changed their deadline to Feb 15th like the other OCNE schools-I think it'll make the waiting more bearable!

Anyone else want to share points to see how tight the competition is this year?

Other than Mt. Hood, I don't get too many discretionary points. :(

Heres what I *think* I have (figuring them myself):

MHCC-63 points

CCC-50 or 51 points depending on how they round up your gpa

PCC-54 points

Good luck everyone!!!

Let the nail biting, stalking the mailbox begin! :lol2:

Congrats to everyone! Love hearing some good news on the nursing school acceptance....

Does anyone know if they offer spots based on total points or based on points from the interview? I was thinking it was probably total, but that makes me nervous because it sounds like I'm near the bottom with 57ish...

Pretty sure it's total points but to calm your nerves a bit.....

Last year ALL the alternates got in. (140 interviewed, 64 spots & 45 alternates)

so if that happens again you'll have a 78% change of getting in if you're chosen for an interview!

Thanks! I knew most of them got in, but I didn't know all made it! I knew someone who made it in with 53 points (she was a ways down on the wait list). I can't wait to get the interview done! I'm not even sure how to prepare though!

:DYAAAYYYY!! I got my interview invite too for May 2nd at MHCC! Such a bright ray of hope since I got declined form PCC. Not sure of my points, but I had 3.9, A in Bi231/232, and micro completed. I had no CNA or previous degree, but I completed all my pre-reqs at MHCC. I'm so happy today, and now I can relax for my anniversary tomorrow!!

Congrats to you emmyers!!

If you guys have to choose bw PCC and Mt hood, what is your first chose?

Got my Invitation to interview I ended up having I think 65 points?? I donno but I will be declining the interview since I will be on vacation. So I guess that makes everyones chances a little better:)

I'm curious what others think as well. I keep telling myself I would be happy with any option (knock on wood, spin around three times, rub on that lucky rabbits foot) but having a choice would be great. Like many of you I have applied to OHSU, PCC, MHCC and CCC. I did all my preqs at PCC and CNA at CCC. I go back and forth between the two and hear many good things about MH.

Any thoughts on how you would rank order and why?

My only concern with MHCC is how the current negotiation environment is effecting or will effect the teaching. It's obviously had some impact since they cut the part-time program, and who knows what will happen from here on out. My choice is now down to MHCC or OHSU (I applied to PCC but didn't get in). For distance and cost purposes, I'd choose MHCC; but if things do not get better in the next month and I have the offer I may switch my preference to OHSU.

Congrats to everyone with MHCC interviews! I got my rejection letter via email. LOL. I thought that was classy. I have no idea how many points I had -- I was just applying to have more options. I kind of want to look back and figure it out though. Guess I've involuntarily put all my eggs in the Clackamas basket!

Hi Valerie. Congrats! I've been wait listed for University of Portland for Spring 2012 and it's been painful. Sitting, waiting, wishing. June can't come fast enough!
