I wanted to start a thread for all of us who are applying to various nursing schools in the area for 2010. I have applied to five different places: OHSU-Monmouth, University of Portland, Portland Community College, The University of Washington, and Boise State University. I wanted to cover myself and hopefully ensure that I would get in somewhere. I have a really good GPA and experience as an EMT-Basic so I am hoping that that will help my chances.
Just waiting it out until they send out notifications.....I just want to hear back!!!
One thing that helped me more than anything in those A & P classes was a book by Paul Krieger called a Visual Analogy Guide to Physiology (and there is an anatomy one too). That was my main source of studying. It was kind of goofy, but I could understand the hard stuff when it was explained to me in cartoon pictures.
I ditto her advice with the Kreiger book. I couldn't have gotten an A without that book in my 5 week accelerated 231 last summer! I am not a huge visual learner but that book was so simple to understand. It was required for Chemeketa.
Anyone call PCC yet to see if letters went out? Dying here...
I have called several times and no one answers, it goes to the VM for the HAO office secretary who has not changed his VM message this week, and it is still from the week of May 10th-14th.
I did finally email yesterday at 3:30 to the [email protected] email and have not received a reply from them yet.
Has anyone heard that accepting at one OCNE school disqualifies you from the selection of the other's? A friend of mine believes that her group was told that at their interview this week at MHCC and she is concerned that if she holds a seat at PCC (if she gets in) that it will knock her out of running for Clackamas which is her first choice because of location.
