Applicants to forsyth techs 2011 adn program

Hello Everyone!

I am a current applicant for the Spring 2011 ADN program, at Forsyth Tech! I have 155 points and I am scared out of my mind if I am going to get in the program or not. Nursing has always been my dream :redbeathe! I am curious to know who else out there applied? What did you get on your TEAS? How many points do you have? What has been the best/worst part of this application experience! The deadline is Oct 1, we only have a week....so lets post what we know so far!

P.S.

Once we get our acceptance letters (Claiming my spot in the program) lets post so we can meet and greet via, All Nurses!!!

Mine didn't come in today's mail either :\ I don't know why she would mail them out different days so I feel like I should have gotten it already. I had more points than some other people I know that got in. Ugh!

Congrats ADN! I know a few other people who got their letters yesterday, which leaves me feeling a little discouraged because I didn't get one. I feel like a crazy woman scrambling to the mailbox 30 seconds after it passes every day! Maybe today is the day. :uhoh3:

congrats to everyone on this post who got accepted in the spring! I was in the fall 2010 and had to withdraw before the final exam... me and quite a few other people! the program at forsyth tech is rough so you guys be ready! & kay I am applying for the fall 2011 again.... blahhh!

i've applied for the Fall program at forsyth and GTCC i'm hoping one of them pick me up. I got a 81.3 on the teas exam.

BK5896, Do you have any advice for us going in? Why do you have to re-apply? I thought that once you were in, you could just repeat the course.

You can just repeat the course but by the time you withdraw the day you apply has passed..so you wait a semester and take other classes.

My advice would be to be prepared for nursing school to be your LIFE.. You will have no friends, your house will be messy...but you'll have a wonderful family made upon your school mates :) BK is an example of one of mine :)

Study everything in the chapter. Relying on powerpoints will get you no where.

Oh yeah, and don't cry in clinical. ;) Your'e going to feel stupid...but everyone feels that way.

I would like to appply to the ADN program at Forsyth Tech eventually. I'm in the process of getting my CNA 1, studying for the TEAS, and trying to figure out what classes I will need to have taken before I can apply. I don't completely understand the points system. I graduated from UNC in 2007 with a 3.85 gpa. I'm not really sure if that matters or not. I have take the GRE and got a 530 in math and reading and a 5.5 on the writing. I know I will have to take at least Anatomy and Physiology 1 before applying, but I'm wondering what other courses I will have to take. I took basic psych in college and two basic English classes and got A's in them so I feel like it would be redundant for me to have to take those again just to get points. Can anyone help me and tell me how this points thing works and tell me which classes I should take before applying? Thank you!

The points system is as follows: A=4 B=3 C=2 and you multiply it by the credit hours. You should call the admissions office or stop by to see what can be transferred so you know what you need to take. But you definatly have to have at least AP I finished.
