Hi,

Does anybody know how can I appeal the decision of the board of nursing?

Like everyone else I was also denied by CA BRN. I graduated Bsn in the Philippines last 2008 and I also studied LVN here in CA. I've been working as LVN for awhile now so I thought I won't be denied by the board. But my analyst wants me to graduate from an MSN program which I feel like I'm not yet ready since I don't have any RN experience. I asked her if she can give me any other options such as taking extra subjects to fulfill the requirements but still she wants me to do MSN program. I totally disagree with her decision regarding my application since LVN only needs 30 units to be eligible for RN licensure.

I did my appeal and BRN stands with their decision. I spoke to the manager and she explained all the reason why they couldnt accept my application.

She was nice and answered all my questions in a professional manner. (Not like my analyst that would just say no to my questions without giving detailed explanation)

So I just decided to move and maybe study again then come back to California..

It's really sad but I cant do anything about it anymore.. Those rules and regulations that they have been written for so many decades now and it is a must for them to follow those...

Oh, no, that's not good news. But you know what? At least you did it rather than wonder and ponder "what if", "maybe I should have", you can now move on and no longer have to go back and think what might have been. What's the old saying..."better to have loved than to never have been loved" or something like that..not quite the same thing I think, lol, but you know what I mean, I hope, lol.

Yes, it's been in the CA books for almost 30 years so we believed the CHED, PRC and PNA all had our best interests. This goes down to each school, staffers and deans.
