Appalachian State University (BSN) Nursing Program

Updated:   Published

I am a high school senior who is planning to obtain a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and is currently applying to colleges, including Appalachian State University. If anyone has attended or heard about their nursing program, what feedback do you have on it? Is it a good program? What are its benefits and disadvantages? What kind of clinical experiences are available? How well does it prepare you for your career and how does it compare to other programs? ANY information, feedback, or advice would be appreciated. Thank you so much in advance.

I didn't get my BSN there, but I did get my first degree in advertising there and I can say that I loved attending school at App State. Just the overall atmosphere of where the school is located and the surrounding community is really awesome. Not all of the classes are huge either, which enables you to build strong relationships within classes. I have heard that the nursing program is good from others before and I think you should go ahead and apply there or visit the campus one weekend and just speak with faculty about the program. Boone is a wonderful city and App State is one of those hidden gems of the public universities out there.
