Join Us in New Orleans - Nathalie Walker, AORN President - Embrace the Action!

The AORN Global Surgical Conference and Expo 2018: Embrace Action - Mind, Body, and Spirit event will be March 24 - 28, 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Conference Location

Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

900 Convention Center Blvd.

New Orleans, LA 70130

AORN is Offering Three Ways to Learn

  • Live - attend sessions in person
  • Education Hub - watch sessions on large screens
  • Stream On-Demand - watch sessions you have missed, at your convenience

Poster Sessions

Posters portraying evidence-based research done by fellow nurses are on display and on Monday at noon, the authors will be available to talk about their conclusions.

Buzz Sessions

A facilitator will start the sessions with a scenario and then hand it over to the audience for a solution. Most of the sessions are an hour, running concurrent with many sessions being offered more than once, so if you cannot make it to the one you want, schedule it for another time.

Networking

Conferences offer networking that you cannot get anywhere else. Meeting doctors and surgeons that speak at the conference can turn into long-term, invaluable resources.

If you are looking for a job, talking to fellow nurses and managers can score you that perfect position. One area of networking that can prove invaluable is the representatives present at the exhibits. Pick their brains, get their samples and tuck their business cards in your wallet; not to mention the friendships that form over a small amount of time.

Discovering New Innovations and Developing Best Peri-Operative Nursing Practices

A Night Out is Scheduled for Monday night from 8pm - 11pm - "Night Out at the Nola"

While in New Orleans, make sure you save time to have a beignet and coffee at Cafe du Monde, or a bloody Mary at Mothers (their food is great!). Take a walk through the French Quarter and enjoy the street artists. Stop and listen to the street bands or individual performers, you will be forever changed. The charming mix of old with new will make you want to come back.
