January 15 deadline has passed! I am extremely nervous and excited for April 2014 to come. I've been wondering. ..why does UIC take soooo long to make decisions for our applications? I am pretty scared because I did not apply at another University, all my marbles land on this ONE basket. All I can do is hope and pray I get in. Anyone that applied, feel free to post your comments and concerns on this thread. Best of luck to everyone!
I haven't started the program yet but I have been commuting to UIC for three years one hour each way via public transport so that I can save money and I can say it really sucks and is really stressful. I guess it depends on how long your commute it and which method you use to commute. If your commute is 35 minutes or less then it doesn't sound too bad. I don't know too much about living on campus but it it would definitely be less time consuming than commuting. For this program living on campus would probably be better but it is going to be more costly obviously.
So how are you guys preparing for nursing school? Are you guys commuting or living there? I have to commute. Do you know how the program structured? Sorry, i just thought we should also talk about how we are doing to manage everything, share ideas and thoughts.
Well i am sorry guys i should have read the previous pages. You guys already talking about that. Haha. I am commuting to the campus through the blue line. It is pretty easy to get there. From the station, uic is only 5 min walk. I cannot live there so yeah plus i love living with my family.
:)
Just received my package, but as I read through it I came across a concern. Does anyone know if UIC is big on the flu vaccine? They are asking for proof of the flu vaccine administered during the flu season (Sept-Feb)....but I didn't receive the flu shot :-(....can they withdraw their acceptance decision??
I believe they are talking about the uocoming sept-feb. If it was for last sept-feb, then they would have told us to get one during admission application or something. I didn't get one last year either. I am hoping it is for upcoming. I am going to call today as i have a few questions for them. I will update you guys on what they tell me!
Nikita.
