January 15 deadline has passed! I am extremely nervous and excited for April 2014 to come. I've been wondering. ..why does UIC take soooo long to make decisions for our applications? I am pretty scared because I did not apply at another University, all my marbles land on this ONE basket. All I can do is hope and pray I get in. Anyone that applied, feel free to post your comments and concerns on this thread. Best of luck to everyone!
Hi guys! I applied to the program in Urbana and got the email about the interviews but didn't get an invitation to choose a date.I'm extremely worried because the UIC program is the only nursing school I've applied to. When did you guys get your email invitations?
Hi,
I received my invitation email on Feb. 13. The email says that if you have not been invited to interview by March 20, then you are not qualified. You still have time! I'm sure UIC is still sending out invitations. I applied to the Chicago campus, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the timing of invitations.

I'm super worried because it's been almost 2 weeks since I've gotten the first email. I will be sooo devastated if I don't get an invitation...
bwcombo I would not panic yet because the email said that they would send interview invites "in waves." I'm sure the Urbana campus has not sent all their invites yet. I received mine on Feb 12th.
My interview is on March 4th for Chicago. I'm very nervous as surely all of us are. Good luck to everyone!

The emails are sent in waves, and the latest you could receive an email is March 20. Depending on the location you applied to could affect the timing of the email, I'm sure!! I have one classmate who applied for the Chicago campus who has yet to receive an email, while another classmate (also for Chicago) received hers the same time I did in early February. I'm sure they are still sending emails out. :)
Hi all,
I have my interview tomorrow! Wish me luck! I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. I reviewed all the suggested topics in the email. I also read over my essays and practiced describing myself as a student and healthcare worker. There are so many topics to discuss, and I honestly don't know what to expect! All I can hope for is to try my best and make myself look extremely qualified. Good luck to everyone! :)
good luck PaulDee you seem like you have great experience and have done a lot to prepare for the interview. Just be yourself and have confidence, I'm sure you will do great :)
Thank you, and you will do just as fine as well :). Everyone was nervous, but we all got through it. Study, study, study the topics they emailed us! Everything was very straightforward, no surprises. Good luck to you too :)!

Hi NikitaPatel,
I'm practicing with my parents and friends. They'll ask me questions, and I'll try to respond clearly and make sense. I'm still nervous. I'm sure almost everyone is! The email sent to us has an attachment of what topics to focus on. I've been writing simple outlines to different questions/topics.. I'm not quite sure what the essay prompt will be about. It could be about anything! Meeting us in person helps the board of admissions determines who looks good on both paper and in real life. And don't worry :) !! The admission decision is still based off of GPA and the essays. They'll take into account everything you have submitted and presented. I hope we get in! UIC is my top choice, but I also applied to a couple back up schools. Good luck!! We can do this!! :)
