Anyone work at Planned Parenthood in Co. Springs?

U.S.A. Colorado

To those that work at Planned Parenthood, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Planned Parenthood does a lot of good work, and it's a shame that people carry out violent acts against locations all over the country. This is the most shocking one in a long time, and that it happened in a city I went to nursing school in and lived in for 5 years just tugs at my heart. Colorado Springs is a beautiful place, and despite being home to the rotten elements that encouraged this violent act, I still think Colorado Springs is a beautiful place. I treasure my memories there.

I agree, Colorado Springs is a wonderful city. I am unaware of the "rotten elements". Care to enlighten me?

Gee, thanks. I'm aware of what happened. What are the "rotten elements that encouraged this violent act"?

Fundie Christians?

There are many fundamentalist Christian churches in Colorado Springs. Many of their ilk are very aggressive in their proselytizing and take aggressive stances on issues like abortion and homosexuality. Focus on the Family has a big campus in the north part of town, and New Life Church, which once had a closet gay man with a meth habit as a pastor, has the biggest church I've ever seen. It looks like a mini stadium.

Some may call Colorado Springs the evangelical Vatican. I think it's more like the evangelical Saudi Arabia, in that it fosters the extreme ideology that leads to mass murder. Yesterday, in San Bernardino, we just saw the fruits of an extreme ideology that came out of the real Saudi Arabia, and now everyone will focus on that. Unfortunately, the extreme ideology fostered within the United States' own borders is getting overlooked.

"....fosters the extreme ideology that leads to mass murder." That's a pretty radical statement. Especially so considering that in this instance the murderer came to the area a year ago, lived off the grid an hour + away, and by many accounts sounds like he had been mentally unbalanced for quite awhile beforehand.

Westboro Baptist. Need I say more?

All of the "fundie Christians" that I have met from that area are super clean-cut, upstanding citizens who would be the LAST group of people to promote violence. Yes, some of them might own guns, but they are the type of people I would WANT around if something like this occurred (i.e. responsible gun owners). The shooter in question is NOT of the crowd you describe.
