I need info.

Back brace has stopped working for me,and since i am in homecare, caregivers do no want to help nurses.

All of my patients are over 80 pounds and cannot help in any way shape or form

Most homes do not have room for a Hoyer, and insurance most likely won't cover it anyway.

No one I know wears a steel boned corset. I can't imagine where you would find one? (Oh sorry, I am derailing your thread!)

Google "waist training"

Oh, looky there! Now the banner ad at the top of my page is of corsets.

In defense of the OP, nurses, RN or LPN/LVN, get pigeon-holed in extended care home health. Many do not have an extensive background that will help them to move into a new specialty at all, much less do so easily. I have wanted to change specialties many times just for general principal and employers won't even talk to me about it. So, it is understandable that one could tire easily of reading the same less than workable options all the time. Let's cut the OP some slack.

Instead of asking randoms on the Internet, why don't you see your doctor & change your job? That way you can fix your back & stop putting so much stress on it. You're only gonna make it worse to the point where you can't work any more or even get out of bed.

I would not consider fellow nurses "randoms".

I could have asked on any forum but i wanted to know how a steel boned corset would fit under a scrub top.

FWIW, I knew an MA who was doing waist training - her corset was not steel-boned, but just really strong elastic, I guess. I couldn't tell when she wore it.

But you don't know us personally nor can you verify our creditials.

I would rather go to my doctor to get help about a serious medical issue such as yours & find a different job or case where you don't have to lift over 50lbs without assistance. Whether that is with help from another person or a device. You are only going to strain your back more with a corset & mess up other organs.

If you look up what any doctor has to say about waist training, it's not good. I doubt any doctor would approve of wearing a steel bone corset during work.

I think a steel bone corset would fit quite nicely under scrubs and give you a very feminine alluring figure at the same time. Can't imagine why it wouldn't? Maybe a little added bonus for your patients or their families.
