Anyone on the waiting list get a letter from San Diego City College?

Published

Hey Everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone on the waiting list for San Diego City College has gotten a letter of acceptance for Fall 2010. I'm in the 100's on the waiting list, so I'm getting pretty close, but since they're accepting 50% from the waiting list and 50% from the point system, it might take me a while longer to get accepted :crying2:. The admin at the nursing office told me that acceptance letters for those on the waiting list should be sent out towards the end of March, so I was just wondering if anyone has received a letter of acceptance or alternate? If so, what number were you on the waiting list??

Just being curious! :D

Apparently 81 is the magic number this year. I got into City this fall too with 81. Hurray! I only made alternate last year with the same score. I only needed 3 people to drop, but no one did. I'm not complaining though, this year actually works out a heck of a lot better for me financially. :monkeydance:

Congrats jens2010!! I just found this thread and was going to ask if you ever heard back from City or Grossmont.

I got in to Grossmont based on the point system and was checking to see if anyone was in the same boat :)

Thanks StudentLJinCA ! I'm so happy and relieved.

Grossmont rejected me. :( When I went in to pick up my application I asked what the point cutoff was and the person I spoke with wouldn't tell me. She said that it wasn't entirely based on the point system, which I thought was state mandated. ??? I prefer City anyway because that's what I know. I did my prereqs there and I like the turquoise uniforms better! LOL! JK! Both schools are supposedly great.

Congratulations to you too! Phew...We're on our way!

Haha, forest green is NOT your color?? Haha, it's not the greatest look :)

I have no idea how many points I got in on (they wouldn't disclose that information) - I took a estimate and I was in the mid 80's or so. So I'm not sure what their cut-off was.

Whatever it was, it worked out for both of us!

I wish you well in the program :)

Hi, I just got a phone call today from the Nursing Admissions that I'm In!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've never been this excited in my life!! I've been waiting for this for over 3 years and now it's finally happening! Thanks for your encouraging words, maybe I'll see you at the orientation. I signed up for Monday, but may have to attend Tuesday if Monday is already full. Hope to see you there and good luck!!!

@Rayni22:yeah::w00t::cheers:

I'm so excited for you! I know how you feel. I almost bawled when I got my email! Had I not been at work, I surely would have. I'll be at Tuesday's! I'm sure our paths will cross at some point. Hope to see you soon!

:ancong!:

Thankyou, you are so sweet! My name is Rayni, maybe we will meet up at some point. I would love to have a friend in the program :)

I'll try to add you as a friend. We'll see if it works. :)

I received a vmail yesterday with the wonderful news of starting this Fall too! Yay to us! I called the orientation person in charge to pencil me in on the 24th. Did she give you guys a confirmation number or something to make sure we are in for the meeting? Thanks for you help.

Congratulations! No confirmation. I emailed first and specifically asked for a confirmation, but I didn't get a reply. So, I called and they said I was already on for the 25th. Makes me nervous too!

Jen, I got your message, but it wouldn't let me reply. I'm not very good at this stuff!!! Anyway, I think I added you as a friend??? I hope I was successful in my attempt! We can still message this way. :lol2: I'm sure I'll see you at school too. I'm soooooo excited!

Imarites, If you called on Friday, they probably won't get back to you until Monday. I sent her an e-mail, requesting that she call me back to let me know, and she called and emailed me the next day. If you don't hear from her by Monday, I would just send her an e-mail. She seemed very nice!!! CONGRATULATIONS:yeah:!!! I've been reading your posts over the years, and shared in your frustration. Now we are finally here. I'm so happy for you. Good luck in the program!
