Anyone waiting to hear from USA

Published

I applied for Spring admission to the University of South Alabama MSN and have not heard anything yet. The deadline was Sept 1 but I haven't heard anything and neither has two other nurses that have applied. Anyone know when they usually notify applicants? Anyone have comments on their MSN program..I am undecided as far as specialty...I'm leaning towards education or Adult Acute Care NP...All comments appreciated

I graduated from USA with a MSN in Family Psychiatric Mental Health NP in December 2007. I feel that it is a very good program. As with any distance education program, you have to be very self-motivated. The work load was challenging at times, but upon graduation, I was prepared for the certification exam. I didn't even review before the exam and scored pretty high. That was a good thing, because after graduation, I felt that I could not look at another text book for awhile!

As far as notification, I can't help you with that. I applied early in the spring, so I got my letter pretty fast. I wouldn't worry too much about not hearing from them thus far. They probably have fall break around this time, and that will slow them down some.

I'm happy to answer any questions you have about my experiences with the program!

Thanks for the response. I am starting to have second thoughts about USA, however. I had a lot of problems with the person in charge of graduate admissions and several times I have left messages with the nursing office and no one has bothered to call me back. I am frustrated already and haven't even started!

I am in my second semester at USA for FNP...I'm taking Pharm in the spring...any helpful advice? I hear it's a toughie. I signed up for the same instructor as I have for patho. I really like her for that class so far...

92mxmom--How was patho-I already looked up the books required--a lot of the reviews say the book is pretty hard to understand-also did you buy the one with online access code or just the regular one-also did you get the workbook that accompanies it-also did this class include a lot of writing or just tests mostly-also (tired of me yet?) who would you reccomend to take patho with? Thanks again :specs:

Specializes in a variety.

Hi Guys,

I see that the usa MSN programs are all online. Are the clinicals for the NP programs done in Alabama and/or does one find a clinical site/preceptor wherein he or she lives? I just completed my MSN/ED this week from uop and I was considering doing a post-master certification-GNP, maybe in 2 or 3 years...

Regards,

Praise,RN
