Anyone Up For Random FACT THROWING??

Let's have some fun learning. Each person should throw out 5 random facts or "things to remember" before taking your finals, HESI, NCLEX, etc.

Updated:

OK I know this sounds stupid but I have a friend that gets really freaked out before big tests like finals, HESI, NCLEX, and usually we get together and a few days before I start throwing out random facts at her. On 2 different tests she said the only way she got several questions was from the random facts that I threw at her that she never would have thought of!

SOOOOO..... I thought that if yall wanted to do this we could get a thread going and try to throw out 5 random facts or "things to remember". NCLEX is coming and the more I try to review content the more I realize that I have forgotten so......here are my 5 random facts for ya:

OH and BTW these came from rationales in Kaplan or Saunders no made up stuff:

1️⃣ A kid with Hepatitis A can return to school 1 week within the onset of jaundice.

2️⃣ After a patient has dialysis they may have a slight fever...this is normal due to the fact that the dialysis solution is warmed by the machine.

3️⃣ Hyperkalemia presents on an EKG as tall peaked T-waves

4️⃣ The antidote for Mag Sulfate toxicity is ---Calcium Gluconate

5️⃣ Impetigo is a CONTAGEOUS skin disorder and the person needs to wash ALL linens and dishes seperate from the family. They also need to wash their hands frequently and avoid contact.

Oh, ohh, one more...

? Vasopressin is also known as antidiuretic hormone

OK your turn....

thankyou hugmebaby for your help....I will remember you if I have any question in my testabout that....good look to you too...

Thnx for reposting!

hi everyone if you guys are having a hard time remembering about acidosis and alkalosis, this is the best way to remember it and i bet you wont forget this for the rest of your life hehehehehhehehehehe

anything coming out in your ass is acidotic

thats it! hope this one helps

nursing care of a child with leukemia

=avoid flowers

=avoid plants

=discourage mother from visiting

-avoid eating fresh fruits

=wear gloves only

=provide a stuffed teddy bear

These are my fives

1) Hypocalcemia

2) A patient with hypocalcemia has to have a heart monitor and placed on seizure precautions.

3) A patient with hypocalcemia would be positive sign to Chvostek's and Trousseau's sign and would show hyperactive deep tendon reflexes.

4) ST-interval on the EKG represents ventricular repolarization.

5) QT-interval last 0.32-0.4 secs. it represents the time needed for ventricular depolarization. feliz3

Another one: a patient with hypocalcemia is at high risk for fractures, so move the patient carefully and assess for fractures. feliz3

A new nursing graduate is attending an agency orientation regarding the nursing model of practice implemented in the facility. The nurse is told that the nursing model is a tam nursing approach. The nurse understands that planning of care delivery will be based on which characteristic of this type of nursing model of practice?

2.A single RN is responsible for providing nursing care to a group of clients

3.Managed care concepts and tools are used in providing client care

4.Nursing personnel are led by an RN leader in providing care to a group of clients.

:up:i love this thread..thank you so much for sharing ..count me in..:typing

I wanted to first of all say i love this thread it has really helped me a lot in my studys. I just wanted to know if anyone could share any good tips on how to memorize some of the things that will be tested on about the different diseases. I know there have been a few on here already like botulism and addisons and ones like that, but i know there are a lot of different diseases to be tested on and that is one of my weaknesses. I would really appreciate it, i am getting ready to take my boards next week for the fourth time and i just have to pass! :bowingpur:idea::typing

The answer is number 4 because team nursing is generally led by a registered nurse who is responsible for assessing, developing nursing diagnosis, planning and evaluating each patient's plan of care. Remember when approaching this type of questions look for the answers which are wrong first. I have the the 3rd edition but your question is discused in Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX, CHAPTER 8 PAGE 67, under the subject Nursing Delivery Systems. I hope this helps you.
