Anyone Trying To Get Into Atlantic, Sheridan, or Mcfatter 2012-2013?

In broward county? Or am I the only one? I see the last thread on either one of these schools was from 2011. I'm trying to get into mcfatter for Novembers start date. Orientation was supposed to be Monday but was cancelled due to the storm. So now it's on September 10th. I'm afraid a lot of people may be applying. And that I may not get on. :( was thinking about emailing the counselor and asking her how many they admit each time.

She eventually gave me the packet aftet I kicked and screamed.about it lol I was missing my lab results for the titer but ive got everything in now. I went to sheridan today the counselor is a ***** she said it doesnt matter if we went to orientation we still have to go to theirs in order to turn in our paper work. Theres is every Monday exvept the 17 yheyre closed at 8 am we dont need an appointment u just show up. Seems a little unorganized but if u plan on applying there too make sure u go to the orientation and bring all ur papers so u can.turn.them in right after

Yes!!! She's a mutha! That's the one I had problems with and that's why I said the school is ghetto. That's who I had an encounter with. She wanted to know "What I wanted" and I better "Make it quick" What?! That broad...

Anyway yeah she tole me the same thing. I guess I'll go to their orientation on the 24th if I'm in town. She told me too, that even though I attend mcfatters that I have to go to theirs also. Why? I don't know. And she said that it's 2 hours long.

What???? 2 hours???? What the hell! I even waited an hour for her to come back from lunch and she literally talked for 30 seconds and.wouldnt let me speak and that was that. Ughhh ridiculous!

Same here! I had my daughter with me. We drove all the way there for her to act like that and then talk to me for not even a minute. I was so disgusted.

Do you guys know what facilites for clinicals? also have you guys taken health career core already?

No I havent taken core class yet if u havent thats what we do the first 3 weeks of school. And as far as clinicals mcfatter goes to 2 nursing homes in tamarac. Not sure if they go to a hospital later on or not

My friend went to Atlantic and did hospital rotation at west side regional hospital. And some nursing homes and kids psych hospital in Tamarac somewhere I believe.

Ok I may be wrong about this but look into it. I had taken health career core as it was needed for Broward. I took it online thru sheridan, you only need to go in for CPR which i already had so did not need to go to the school. The cost was about $270. However those same classes with exception of CPR are offered thru ceufast.com for $30!!!! unlimited classes and exam. Thats one of the places mcfatter told me students use for their ceu's. I checked on here and people from broward take their classes thru them as well. Wish i had known this before.

I remember someone asking that question. If your license is in Fl, you would qualify for advanced standing; if its from another state she would have to look into it. Email her to make sure.

Yeah it's in Florida. Email the counselor? I was thinking of puttinga copy of my cna license in the application packet, but didn't know if I was allowed.

Since you have to drop off the packet she goes thru everything you have, so i would say yeah bring the original and a copy of it. Bring copies of your CPR card too. Are your Osha, HIV, and Domestic violence courses up to date? if they are not you can do that after you turn them in.

No it's not up to date. I'll look into it though.
