In broward county? Or am I the only one? I see the last thread on either one of these schools was from 2011. I'm trying to get into mcfatter for Novembers start date. Orientation was supposed to be Monday but was cancelled due to the storm. So now it's on September 10th. I'm afraid a lot of people may be applying. And that I may not get on. :( was thinking about emailing the counselor and asking her how many they admit each time.

Advanced placement isnt that much of a difference. You just start school 3 weeks later but ull still be with the same group alls it is is u skip the core class which is mostly online the first 3 weeks. And wow I wonder why they all do clinicals so far away from theit schools but I like west side its okay.

Yeah. But 3 weeks is good enough for me. Plus I wouldn't have to pay (I believe) $270 for the core. More money I won't have to pay. Also the counselor says you can also skip an entire block if they feel you don't need it. (after they review college transcripts) I've taken

Anatomy 1

Anatomy 2

Human growth and development

Nutrition

Sociology

Psychology

English comp

Microbiology

Speech

Some math courses

Medical terminology

And I've been a cna for 10 years. (which doesnt matter but whatever) i'll just throw the license in the packet.

And more I can't recall. Hopefully that will mean something. If not for the LPN at least it will matter for when I bridge. Did all that work for nothing? Better not!

Well west side is right by my house. 2 mins. And mcfatter is not too far from me so I feel like its right in the middle. I live in plantation. I heard its a nice hospital. And the staff is nice. But it's a good ways from Atlantic. I wonder why they picked it. Maybe because they have a contract or something.

Oh yea if none of that is useful itll def work at BC ur basically done with all of the pre reqs. Also I think somethings from cna transfer over so u should DEF put that in there! Hopefully itll all work out if u could skip a whole block thatd be perfect!

I didn't show immunity for hep b. so I have to get shots in the morning. I guess I'll just turn in that I got my first dose and turn that in with my packet tomorrow. Hmmm..

I called atlantic theyre.not full yet and since its firat come.first serve u should go there asap

Funny you say this. I'm here right now turning in my stuff!

Cordero, are you still going to apply to Sheridan even though it looks promising at Atlantic? I'm skeptical.

Ehhhhhh! Ive been talking about that. I dont know if I want to. First of all, its the FURTHEST from my house, and they are just soooooo rude! And their program also starts at 7 and id have to leave at like 5 to get their on time and theyre making.us go to a 2 hr orientation I think I might just skip out on it. The people at atlantic were ruse at first but I had a melt down and started crying an then they helped me out so much and ive heard atlantics program is muc harder than mcfatter.but its pretty promising so I think im going to skp out on sheridan and just cross my fingers. If the teachers are just as rude as evwryone else I wont make it. Very hard to bite my tongue so ill just keep my distance from sheridan. Did u ask atlantic if their program was full?? Wondrr if u got the same answer or something different?

I'm smack dab in the middle of sheridan and atlantic it seems. *sigh* I don't know about Sheridan either. I hear it's easier than atlantic, but ghetto as well. But I've heard nothing but good things about Atlantic. I turned in my paperwork to Atlantic only. I didn't even turn it into mcfatter yet! Lol. Maybe monday. I just felt Atlantic I had a better chance so I would rather turn it in there first. I was told we have to do reviews with a Mrs. S. Don't wanna say her whole name, but she said she has to do an interview with you. They kind of gave me a hard time with turning in my paperwork. They wanted originals, etc. I'm like I'm not giving you my originals. I'm giving you copies. Sorry lady. She was like I guess it'll do. :sarcastic:

I was planning on giving my originals to mcfatter. But anyway, when I walked in, and told her what I was there for, she said "Oh! You're on a roll!" So I'm assuming we're early. Yay! I'm just gonna turn in my packet to mcfatter for ish and giggles. I think they are way too full to be honest. But I'll try. As for Sheridan, I'll see how I feel Sunday night. Lol

Yes I spoke with mrs. S but it was kind of a bad interview because when she told me to come back I stormed out crying but then.came back and she talked to me I guess that was my interview lol but yes atlantic seems to be the best choice so far. when I asked if they were full she said no and ell be contacting u soon so I guess not very many AT ALL have even aplied there so good thing u went there first, and who knows lets see maybe everyone at mcfatter has something "coming up" and cant make it lol

Why did you storm out? And why did she tell you to come back? Yeah I hope i get in mcfatter. It's much closer to me.

Went to orientation at Sheridan. Wow. What a waste of my time. A WASTE. Calculated the time it took to get from my house to the school. Left my house at 7:15 and got there 7:40. Even with school zones and traffic. Not bad.

As far as the orientation. *sigh* They told me to come in at 8. Get there at 8 and orientation starts at 9. So now I'm mad. I said I thought it started at 8? The secretary said we say 8 because you have to register and stuff fist. So I registered. Waited till 9. Orientation was held in the library. There were 40 some people there. How THEY do orientation is they do a health sciences orientation. It's not specific to nursing. So I was uninterested.

After this orientation you have to schedule a PN orientation. I just went home. Like such a waste of my time.

I was only interested in the school, because I liked the idea of Fridays off. I'm still thinking about it, but right now I'm turned off.

Went to turn in my paperwork for mcfatter today and can't do it till Thursday. Not worried, cause I know chances on getting in are slim. but whatevs. I'm pretty confident I'm at least considered at Atlantic.

What I also thought was interesting, was that if there's a half day for the highschool kids, it is for us also. Anyway, just updating and rambling. Tomorrow I'm gonna sit at the tax office and see about getting my tax transcripts.
