Anyone taken the NLN recently?

I was wondering what the math emphasis. I would imagine it emphasized on measurements and the like, is this correct? Also, any insight into the exam would be greatly appreciated. :D

Fractions, Percents, and vocab (study the roots of words)

I'd try some speed drills for math and SAT vocab flash cards. Don't take the science too lightly. I'm pretty good with bio but there were questions about how many ohms of resistance a particular circuit generates, for example.

Well, so far the responses have been pretty consistent with what is on the test. I think I am going to focus on science more than anything at this point. I take the test on the 5th and I am studying like a mad man, but I still get the feeling that I am missing a lot. :banghead:.. I will let y'all know how I do and good luck to those who haven't taken it yet!

I just got my results: 150 composite, 99th percentile. Pretty funny, considering the panic I was in afterward.

I used the recommended guide, Pre-Algebra for Dummies, the GED science review and the general nursing entrance exam book from Kaplan. I started studying way later than I intended to, about two weeks from the test date. Never did manage to take a full practice test, either.

Good Luck tomorrow, afraidofamericans!

By the way, I got accepted into my nursing program yesterday.

86th Percentile! I am happy about it because at my school, if you score 70 or above you could be granted rolling admission. Yay!!

Congrats to Arab Rider on such an excellent score! And to Robin, way to go on getting into the program! :nuke:

Good Luck shana J., let us know how you did. Congrats AfraidofAmericans (PS. don't be afraid of us!! LOL)

Thank you so much I am sooo nervous!!!!!! I'll let you know how it goes

Don't be nervous!! If you can do the book you'll be okay. Don't freak yourself out!

I can basically do the book, but not everything and I hardly did the vocab. I mainly did science and math, and now I'm nervous I'll so horrid because of the vocabulary.

If you read a lot it should be okay and a lot of the words you can work out by knowing the roots-prefix and suffixes. Honestly I thought the book was harder than the test. Are you doing it on paper or computer? If computer your results will be available immediately but our people did not tell us that.
