Anyone take the TEAS exam, recently??? 4/2008

I am studying for the TEAS exam. I have bought the book from ATItesting.com. Is this book adequate enough to pass this exam? Is the exam hard? Any suggestions in what to and how to study for the exam? If you don't pass then what happens? I would love to hear from your experience? Thanks!:typing

I took it two years ago. I found that if you just go through the book and do the practice questions, you should be fine. The questions are very similar to the ones on the actual test. If you have troubles with the book, maybe there are other study aides available, but if the book isn't too hard for you , then the test should go OK.

Good luck!

I took the TEAS a few weeks ago - The ATI study guide is pretty true to the test, and if you know the guide, you should do well. I didn't spend a lot of time on the science, and did terrible on chemistry and physical science questions. I did pretty well overall though, even though I've been too busy to work with the guide much. At my testing center (Cal State San Marcos), you can take the TEAS as many times as you want - you just have to pay for it each time. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for answering my question! I will go ahead and continue studying the book and hopefully I will pass on the first try. I believe we only have 3 try's.

Since you passed the TEAS exam, are you accepted into the RN program yet? I am being told that I have to pass another exam called the ATI LVN comprehensive exam? Just wondering how that exam is too? Thanks!

I took the Teas exam two years ago. I used the study guide and the actual test was very similar. I wasn't able to use a calculator during my test, so you may want to find out the policy at your school, as you may need to practice your math without using a calculator. Good luck!

I took the TEAS and did well despite the fact that I usually do poor on those types of tests. I practiced with test questions from the book. I also did an online practice test and I really think that is what helped me the most. I think you can order the online practice test through ATI testing..I did poor on the practice test and was able to see what I did wrong , so I was prepared for the TEAS because of that. I start my RN program in Fall, and there's always something to be worried about!!! Good luck to you

I took the TEAS last week. I only had the ATI study guide and I did fine (99th percentile - national)

I bombed on the life science questions and spelling for some reason, I guess I might have read the answers wrong in my haste to finish. Although, I had nearly 1/2 an hour leftover on each section. I just wanted to be done.

I also feel that if you have the ATI guide, that is almost "over preparing". Its really not that hard. Especially if you've been in school on a regular basis, meaning you haven't been out of school for 20 years or so. Just know your conversions between metric and our system. Most times they give you the formula you need for that particular problem, but for those conversions, they do not.

Good luck, really, don't stress too much, its much easier than the guide makes it out to be in my opinion.

I'm applying for a Second Degree/Accelerated BSN program and the TEAS is part of the "points" system for admission. We won't actually find out if we are in the program until July . Good luck to you, though!

Wow!! Congratulations on passing the TEAS exam with a 99 %. Thank you for the pointers, I will definately make sure to know the metric conversions. Thanks again!!

Hi Akoalaatemylion,

Interesting name by the way, hehe :)

I will be taking the TEAS test at San Marcos this November or December and was wondering what the test format was. Do you read and answer the questions on a computer and do they provide scratch paper?

If you aren't using your ATI guide anymore are you willing to sell it?

I am planning to apply for the Spring 2010 ABSN program. Did you get in already?

Good luck in your studies!

hey i wanted to know did you already take the TEAS? I'm going to take it soon and was wondering some stuff on the chemistry and physics section..i can't seem to get a good enough score from the ATI book. Kind of puzzle what I should focus on in these two sections. Thank you!!

I just recently went for my TEAS testing and I didnt do so well in the math and the science so im going back to retake it next week. What happens if I dont do so well again??
