I never have but my sister is an x-ray tech and she made a bunch of her own scrubs. I don't remember what any looked like besides the Spongebob ones she made. I think it's a great idea if you know how to sew....there are so many prints to choose from. She just made the basic scrub tops. Then the place she worked went to one certain solid color so she doesn't make them anymore.

My MIL sews mine. I choose cotton prints, the non-shrink kind, and she uses patterns from McCalls.

My mother (who is 77) has been sewing for a good 70 years or so made me so many scrubs and I found out later that she made them out of bed sheets and curtains she was not using. I received many many compliments over the years...Oh and she makes her own patterns

I sew a little. I have made 1 scrub top. It wasn't to bad if you kinda know what you're doing. The selection of the type of fabric is very important.

My dear mom made some scrub tops for me using a "Sew Easy" pattern...however either she made the head hole too small or I have a big head because my head did not fit in them..lol. After some adjusting, I got many compliments on them because they are so unique.

My mother made me some srcubs with a pattern from McCalls, but if you are able to by srubs already made for $ 5-10, it is almost the same as the cost of the fabric that you would need to make your own

I don't sew, other than the very occasional button replacement, but I do have my scrubs custom sewn.
I use an outfit in VA; they have a customized pattern made just for me.
