Hi 5cats thank you, that is my plan to wait for my eligibility but I think it will be much better if, at the same, time I am also processing for my work permit or immigration just like the others. I am an OR/DR nurse for two years now but only1.2 years being a staff nurse.

I'll try to inquire with the agencies you have mentioned jay-em. Thanks :)

There is nothing stopping you from approaching hospitals whilst waiting for eligibility from the college and submitting your resume and follow up a few weeks later. You do not need an agency to do that

you can process for skilled worker anytime, you don't need the eligibility for that, and you don't need an agency for that.

For the work permit you need (normally) eligibilty and an employer, no need to apply before that. Work permit is fast when you have everything together.

Thanks also silverdragon. 5cats, do you mean i can apply for a skilled worker even now? I'm still confused about the process in Canada. Thank you for helping to straighten my thoughts about it. :)

Check out the CIC website and decide which route you want to go. There is no need to use an agency

hi fellow rns!

im also a registered nurse who plans to apply in canada. but i do have some questions though.

1. how much would it all cost me to apply?

2. do they consider the work experience that i have as a volunteer nurse?

i hope someone would answer my questions.

Cost will depend on the Province and you will find fees on the province college of nursing website. Also take into account fees for sitting the CRNE. May or may not have to take SEC or some other course so may be extra fee but isn't decided until after they review your transcripts.

Fees for work permit or immigrant can be found here as well as other information regarding Canada and requirements (this is the Canadian embassy in Manila) http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/philippines/visas/fees-frais.aspx?lang=eng

Hi bobbantom, I applied last week of April. Since then I have only received an acknowledgment of my application with my contact id no. They said they will send me a list of the documents received but until now I haven't received any. I'm still waiting for their email. In addition, they told me that inquiries will not be entertained until the list emailed by them is received.

hi there!

i am also interested in applying so SK.. by monday ill be starting to process my papers.. im a little bit skeptical but ill keep my fingers crossed.. i hope everything will be fine during the whole process..

any idea for any recruitment agencies here or in Canada? im applying as immigrant under Arranged Employment Offer.. please help!

thanks fellow nurses!

If you are applying as immigrant under Arranged Employment Offer.. then there is no need to use agency but apply to hospitals where you want to work and live

If you are applying as an immigrant with an arranged employment offer, you need to have that offer in hand, since you just started the application proccess that's unlikely.
