Starting to plan out pre-reqs in hopes of applying for ABSN programs summer/fall 2018. I currently have a 5 month old and a 3 year old - they would be 3 and 5 at my anticipated start date. Would love to hear from others who are planning on accelerated programs with young kids (or who have gone through them and lived to tell the tale!) Any pro tips/advice?

Me! I have three children ages: 10, 6, & 2. I'm taking my prerequisites over the summer. I've made a previous post similar to yours. I did get informative feed back. It's titled "Help! Wife,Mother,&Student." I must say there will be sacarfies a long the way.
I've taken classes online before changing my major. It was very stressful. I'm amazed at how I kept a great GPA, with all the obsticales of life. My sister was murdered, and yet I kept my head in the books. I'm saying of all that to say, it's tough but well worth it. I've geared myself up to prepare for life's road blocks.
My children are on a set schedule. I can't afford not to have a routine in place (I would loose it). My husband is a great support. I've learned that communication, time management, & descipline are great concepts of success.
Best of luck to you.

I'm a mom of a 2 year old. When I plan to matriculate will be fall of next year, so he will be 3. Currently, hubby and I are planning on another child so if I have the child next year, he/she will be 3-4 months old. I have an awesome support system and I'm currently taking A&P 2 online. I'm a morning person but my full time work is demanding so I get studies/homework done when I can and before deadlines. I've seen stories that you can manage as long as you have a schedule and either stick to it or become flexible.

I'm a mom of a 3 yr old, a 1 yr old, and I'm due with my 3rd in October. I would have graduated in December and started the nursing program in the spring, but due to the pregnancy I cannot. I'm postponing my last semester of pre-reqs until the spring of 2017 and hopefully starting the nursing program in the fall. Oh, and I'm going through a divorce 🙄 I really don't know how much harder it will be with 3, but I'm doing well right now with my 2 kids and school full time while pregnant. Good luck!!
