Are you using one or both in addition to applying for financial aid?
Does it affect other gov't financial aid in any way?
I'm trying to gauge what amount of tuition I should be looking at...what the cut-off should be so I don't get in over my head. If anyone is comfortable sharing the amount of tuition they pay and if it is manageable that would be great!

Hi,
I am doing this. I took out loans in the amount of schooling and am using my GI Bill benefits towards living expenses. I feel this is how I can handle just working part time and keeping up with my bills. Hope this helps!
Anyone else?

Hello,
I am using the GI Bill to help me pay for school. My advisor said that I was eligible for financial aid loans as well, but I have gotten scholarships throughout school and have used my GI $ for living expenses. There are tons of scholarships available to vets - just go to military.com and they have a list there. Don't be afraid to go out and ask within your community too. My local American Legion and Masonic lodge give out scholarships that I thought were just for the younger high school kids, but no it applied to me and I was able to get some scholarships that paid for books up front and then others that sent a check to my college to cover tuition. It is well worth the time to fill out the paperwork to do it. Good luck!

I used my GI Bill to pay for school and take the edge off daycare expenses. It worked well for me. PM me if you have any more questions.

I use the GI Bill alone from active duty for school, my wife is also using hers, and we are now both in the AFANG so we dont really use anything else.
I get told all the time there are tons of scholarships out there, but 90% are for minorities or are super picky like the Deaf Alaskan Native college fund
