Anyone been to Montefiore in Bronx, Ny?

Can anyone give me the good, bad, or ugly?

PM me if you would like.

Nancy

I would like to go oct 15th, but so far they don't have anything in my specialty area bc the current nurses keep extending. Are you going oct 15th? Do the study guides the recruiters send out actually help for the big montefiore test? Or should get some critical care book and study? I'm so nervous!

What's your specialty? They have ICU posted x 2.

I'm sure the tests aren't as hard as everyone is saying. I had the same issue at Wake Forest in NC...they gave 2nd chances to take it over if you failed.

I currently work in PACU but I can do the OR too. I wouldn't want to do ICU, but I wouldn't mind the ED-of course no ED, PACU nor OR positions at the moment. Just my luck! Have you worked there before? Did you study for the test in NC?

I did and they helped also. The study guide was worse than the actual test. I sent you a PM

There is a posting for OR with a 10/15 start date!

Any control over schedule in ICU? And what kind of testing are we talking about?

I doubt you have any control over the schedule...you may can request some certain days off. Usually there is an ICU and/or EKG test you take on the first day of orientation and if you fail, you're sent home!

Seerzly? Sent home? Is it your average sort of difficult ICU test that we all have to take occasionally(and study up for) or some ball buster? Thx.

Haven't taken it but have heard it was a little more difficult than the average ICU/EKG test

Sorry, but why do they need blood work?

What do you mean?

Specializes in They know this too!.

Titers? Drug test?

My titers were okay for them I think but it isn't uncommon for agencies to send you for a drug test along with blood work because they hospital does not approve your documentation for titers.
