Hi erin, its great to hear from you..... that must be so exciting to get the ball rolling with your nursing classes. For me, I'm still waitlisted and I'm taking micro over the summer and stats in the fall. I got a job working as an ekg tech. Did you take intro to stats yet? How is your job going? U still like it? What type of uniform is it for the program? Is clinical still at carleton willard in bedford? Well I will talk to u later then.....

I was also at the class registration meeting. I will be in the Bedford clinical on tuesdays.

Hey Erindel-

Have you been stalking your mail carrier like I have been? He comes between 12:30 and 1pm depending on his lunch... I am hoping for an acceptance letter, I think they send them out in June? I hope it is not another waitlist letter, but I am prepared for that as well. I will probably take a spanish for medical professionals and maybe something else in the spring 2011 ( if not accepted for Nursing yet) while I am waiting for Fall of 2011... wow that seems so far away still, doesn't it? I just don't want to get too comfy not being in school and fall out of good study habits while waiting, plus it will help keep my brain active... talk to you soon.

Hi lyn, I'm going for nites so I can't get in until fall 2011. I bet ur anxiously waiting tho... they did say they would decide the beginning of june. I found a good website called studystack.com and you can go into the medical tab and click nursing and scroll down anything related to nursing you want to study and learn. I printed some pharmacology drugs and their classifications for future reference. I wish the nite program started in january too but its only sept. I have 15 people in my micro class and they are all nursing students. I hope our stats class is not too difficult. I wish I didn't have to take it because I already took that math connections class. Oh well.... ttyl.

Hi all,

Have not posted in quite some time, but was curious if anyone has received an acceptance letter for Spring 2011, yet?

Thanks!

Same here, nothing from the school... just the normal bills in my mailbox.

Hello!

How is everyone? I stumbled across this chat today and it was exactly what I was looking for :D I skimmed through some of the old posts, but there were so many, so I am probably repeating questions already asked. I'm clueless about this whole process. My application is for the Day program and was accepted early May of 2009...I was wait-listed for 2010. How did you find out where you placed on the list/any idea of how to find out when I will be accepted?

I thought that the Day program only takes people once a year in the Fall...so...hearing about Spring of 2011 is confusing me. I will finish my non-nursing classes by the end of this year. I have English Lit in a few weeks this summer, then AP2/Micro together in the fall...YIKES! How were these classes? Any heads up or study tips? Is there anyone who has started the program yet? I know this thread has been going for a while...if so...how is it? How much do you have to study. I'm 23, so I don't have a lot of the responsibilities that some of you have...but I'm still so nervous!

I was also just hired at a hospital on Monday and will be working 24hrs on the evening shift...will I be able to keep this job when I am in the program? I have heard horror stories of people working and going to class, then failing out...and I am nervous about that too! I have been waiting for so long just like everyone else and I can not wait to be a nurse. I am looking to transfer to UML to get my BSN afterwards...any tips on that? Or financial aid? I am new to the school thing and do not have many adults to confide in. I am pretty much the first one that is going to college and extremely clueless about all of the processes. Phew, this was long. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks and good luck to all of you!!!:):yeah:

Hi kris welcome. The day program can start either in the fall or spring. They will send out letters for those ready to be admitted for the program. They dont normally tell a person how close they are or what number they are on the list. Ap and micro together will be alot of studying. I am in micro now and its tough. My teacher is tough though, her tests are hard. Working fulltime while in nursing classes is not advised, but some people have no choice. The program will tell you to cut back hours at work. Thats what they said at the meeting i went to. Feel free to ask any questions, we are all in the same boat... :jester:

Hi,

Thanks for the response. I got my acceptance letter in the mail today!!!! I flipped out! I am starting Spring '11 for the Day program. I have no idea what to expect. I don't work full-time, I only work 24 hrs. I have heard that even 24hrs is too much for the program, have you heard anything similar? I am not sure if I should try to work per diem when I actually start. I can't really afford to work so few hours...but I definitely can't afford to fail out! So, I would much rather be broke for a few years. Does anyone know what classes you're going to be taking yet?
