So I applied to suffolk community college, farmingdale, and I'm probably going to apply to westchester (my fiance's job is moving and in case she decides to stay with them we have to move)
Heres my issue: I'm 25 years old and i went to college right out of highschool but I definitely wasnt ready. I screwed around and got alot of C's, some D's, and barely any B's. I graduated with a criminal justice degree in spring of 2006. Fast forward to now, I never got a job in the CJ field so I went back to school taking pre reqs for nursing. I took Chem and English and got a B and A respectively. Then took AP1, AP2 and Psych and got B+, B+, and an A. I'm taking school much more serious now and I'm worried that the classes from years ago are going to hold me down. I have a 3.61 GPA in my pre reqs but overall GPA is HORRIBLE, like a 2.4 (I failed a music class when i was 21) So Am I screwed when they look at my application? i wish i could erase my entire college history before Jan of 2008. Anyone know if those schools I mentioned are going to look at TOTAL GPA or just Pre Req GPA? I've asked this of friends, teachers, admissions, etc... and I get conflicting answers everytime. Hopefully someone here knows for sure... ?

Most college under graduate nursing programs require one complete a certian set of classes (pre-nursing sequence), with a minimum GPA to gain entry. This is often expressed as "culmative GPA" in course catalogs or other information regarding the nursing program.
Graduate, RN to BSN, and second degree BSN programs often require a culmative GPA of a certain number of *all* college work from all schools attended.

Best of luck

That depends on the nursing program that you are trying to enter and also how competitive admissions is.
Contact the Nursing department of the schools you are interested in.
