I have a nursing student classmate that has worked there over the summer and she took the med. test. She said it was not difficult-basic formulas i.e. dose ordered/dose on hand times ml. and just basics. I would just look over my drug calc. book. I am going into my third semester and I have gone to parkland for each clinical. I plan to apply there after graduation. Good Luck to you!!:redbeathe:nurse:
So I interviewed and took the medication test...test was very similar to the ones we had to take every semester so not bad at all. (could be bad if you're out of practice on dosage calc...which is scary altogether if that's the case... :) All went well and will be doing the residency. Thanks everyone for your input!
I went on 2 interviews at Parkland today and took the Medication test today as well. I made a 98% on the test, and you only need to make an 85% to pass.
It is 40 question, multiple choice test on the computer. They will send you a study guide within 24 hours of when you are scheduled to take the test. Read the study guide, do the practice questions. if you know how to do the study guide questions then you will be JUST FINE on the medication test.
They do not try to trick you, most are very straight forward questions, for example: how many ml in 1 oz?
Just make sure you know your conversions--- and you will do great. Not a hard test at all!!!
Good luck!
Hi Sar901,
I had an interview for the ICU residency program in August and totally bombed it due to my nerves, but my dream is to work at Parkland I have applied for every internship and RN1 position but have heard nothing since my Aug interview. Can I ask you what departments you got to interview for, I am just curious I know I already lost my chance with Parkland, but I would like to know what areas are still in demand! Thank-you for your help!

I was just curious if anyone has had to take the Parkland hospital medication test. I have an interview there and they said that if they choose for me to go on that I will take a med test. Thank You!!!
