was just wondering if anyone from West TN or jackson was out there.

I am starting my nursing classes and just wanted to check out who all was out there.

I am originally from West Tennessee but living in Nashville now.

I am in LPN school, 2nd semester. Glad to see some locals from where I grew up.

Specializes in Geriatrics.

I'm from Savannah, TN, about 1 1/2 hours from Jackson. I'm very familiar with JMCGH.

I work at Jackson General in Jackson, TN. When do you graduate? What school?

Hi all, currently living in Crockett county and going to LPN school in Ripley. Want my RN. Have a BS in Management. Any ideas where to go? Really dont want to go back to Memphis if I dont have to.

Hey, I live in Crockett County, too!! Check out Union University.

I live in Savannah and attend JSCC in the RN program. Hopefully, if all goes well, I will graduate in 2007. Does anyone know the starting salary for RN's at the hospitals in Jackson and also is anyone else in the RN program at JSCC?

Specializes in ER!.

From what I learned at both hospitals there, starting salary is not great. $16 and change at both, though Regional had a $3 differential for nights/evenings, and I knew nurses at JMCGH who worked Baylor shifts and made better money.

I now live and work in Memphis, and have to say that even though we have been insanely swamped in the ER at Methodist lately, it is 1 million times better than my experiences at both Jackson hospitals. For lots of reasons, not the least of which I am making almost twice what JMCGH paid me, and I work fewer hours. Any overtime is my decision, not my manager's.

My parents are in Jackson, I grew up and married there, but there is no way I'd recommend working as an RN at either hospital there.
