when do you plan to apply to the nursing program? what other prereqs do you have left to take? are you taking any this semester? glad to know someone else is in the same boat as me! thanks for your reply.

Math-3 classes, Sociology, A&P 1&2 w/labs. I am taking pre-algebra & nutrition this summer. I am hoping that after the pre-algebra I can re-take the math portion of the placement test, or clep out. If not I take the 2 extra math classes. I will most likely be able to apply sometime after next spring/summer.

Who are you taking for nutrition? nutrition isn't a prerquisite for the program as far as i understand (i'm guessing youre taking it for a bsn later on down the road) I also plan to apply after next spring semester/summer for the jan start. I am taking soc right now online at spc and microbio at hcc (on campus). I have to also still take a&p 1&2 with the labs. I'm taking a&p1 w/lab this fall at hcc and a&p2 w/lab in the spring at hcc. Then i'll be able to apply for the program in june. (next june, not this june!) maybe we'll have class together at some point!

when do you plan to take a&p 1/2? what program (evening or day) and at what campus (dale mabry or plant city) do you plan to apply for? what specialty do you plan to go into after graduation?

If I can clep out of math, I hope to take it this spring & summer. I may have to wait and take it the next fall/spring, ugh... I want to get in ASAP, but I have taken so long to go back to school I feel like if it takes me longer to get the pre-regs done it is still worth it. I would prefere to be in the evening program because I have to work. If only the day program is available I will consider it, I would just have to get a different job. I will stay at Dale Mabry. I am not sure yet what specialty I will work in, so much interests me. How about you?

i think i'm confused, sorry. you said you hope to take it this spring and summer if you clep out. it's summer session now..or do you mean this fall/spring? hopefully you can clep out like you said so you can take the classes in the fall and spring (which is when i'm taking them too!) but i'll be taking them at the brandon campus as long as they are avail there. which i know ap 1 is avail at brandon this fall, so as long as ap2 is avail at brandon this spring that's where i'll be! but hopefully you can take them this fall/spring because the deadline (as im sure you already know) is june 1. that's why i have to make sure i dont miss any semesters and take things in the proper sequence because if i want to apply after the spring semester's over (may-ish) for the june 1 deadline for the jan 2010 also evening program at dale mabry. everything has to be just exact! but like you said, if you arent able to, then you can at least try for the next semester! as long as you get to apply one of the semesters that's what matters. i'm also not 100% sure what specialty-i dont have much experience in different units to really know. i've shadowed a couple different nurses to see med/surg/telemetry as well as icu and ccu (all were for adults) and also i worked in an assisted living facility for a short period of time. they are definitely all different enviornments-icu and ccu very similar though of course. i would really really like to get some exposure with nicu. i think i'd really really enjoy it, but of course i'm not sure. that's what i'm hoping clinicals will help me decide.
