Anyone heard from Molloy for fall of 2008?

Published

Has anyone received word from Molloy College about acceptance?? I've been waiting for more than 3 months. I hope it's a good sign, and I'll get accepted in the fall.

I wanted to know how long does it take to complete the 15 nursing courses there? Did you start already?

I ended up going to Adelphi, so I don't know the answer.

Thanks for replying. How kong does theirs take? Do you know how NYIT works? I just really want to get into a BSN program.

Well, I LOVE Adelphi in Garden City--beautiful campus, and many of the professors are very helpful and knowledgeable. I started in September. I'm so glad I chose it. I don't know what NYIT is. I do know that Adelphi will take me 3 years to complete their requirements for the BSN (I already hold a BA from a different college--I changed careers). I'm a full-time student. I also read my textbooks every day including my days off. In order to apply to Adelphi, all transfer students (such as myself) had to take the NET exam before being considered. They don't even look at the application until you pass their NET. Call up the school, and fill out their online application if you're interested. You can also set up an appointment with a counselor who'll tell you what courses would transfer into their program and give you an estimate how long it'd take to graduate.

I called them a few weeks ago. Their program is not for me. They don't have LPN to BSN. I have a BA and just graduated from LPN school so I'm checking out Molloy because they are articulated with us. I have to call them first thing in the morning to get the facts on the LPN Mobility program. I have all the core classes, except for Micro and Chem. They accept my vocational school's A&P and some clinicals and can test out of a few nursing classes. I hope they have good news for me. I was hoping someone who did Molloy's LPN to BSN program would come on the board. All the best at Adelphi!

Adelphi just started a new program for LPN's that would carry them to a Bsn call the ABle Office because this program is not being offered thru the regular nursing school

Hey Maryann unless you still have more prereqs to take you will finish much faster than 3 years when I got advise I was told it would take me 5 semesters traditionally that would be 2 and half years but I went to summer school and it took me two years I started spring of 07 and I will be done this semester dec of 08

good luck with everything

The lady I spoke to told me that Adelphi's program is for LPNs with little college credits or none at all. The rep told me it wouldn't be a good fit for me.

Yep, I am just starting my pre-req's, so that's why it'll take me 3 years as a ft student. It sucks b/c I was hoping to take summer classes to finish faster, but I was told that there are no nursing classes offered during the summer unless I was in the accelerated program (which I'm not). It's not worth completing the pre-req's elsewhere & applying into an accelerated program b/c I'd still be looking at 3 years since my former BA was in English & secondary education. Does Molloy offer nursing classes in the summer for all students or just the accelerated ones?

My blessings to her. Veeb was great. The instructors are VERY good. The pharm and fundamentals instructors are both Adelphi MSN graduates. The others are from Molloy's MSN program. Tell her to hang in there and do her best.
