I was wondering when LLU will be inviting their applicants for an interview? Anyone who has been accepted, can you let me know the time frame of when the interview is and when you will be accepted for Fall? Thank you!!
I was reading this post and wanted to comment on the ADN and the BSN. They generally get paid the same a RN with a BSN pay make like 50 cents more. The major differ new right now in CA is that hospitals are trying to get Magnet Status. With that being said yes some prefer RNs with a BSN where as others hire ADN RNs who generally have a greater amount of clinical experience. It is dependent on each facility.!in all honesty I suggest going to whatever program you get into regardless of it being a BSN or ADN program! Either way it is hard and competitive. You can always go back and continue with the RN to BSN and a benefit to that is the price!!! It saves a great amount of money.
Remember BSN and ADN nurses all that the same boards they all have the same license!
@Makkara oh no! Well at least Mt Sac will be an option IF we do not get in. Yes I heard that they went to a standard point system, and not lottery. I know Chaffey's is still lottery mode. But I can see where you are coming from. I thought of that too. If I have thounsand dollars in loans I cannot get certain things right away like if I would if I was debt free. That is the attractive aspect of getting your ADN at a community college, is that you can work at a place and possibly have your employer pay you to go back to get your BSN. Its okay we all need to vent : ))
@whitneylee that's pretty cool about GA that they pay BSN nurses more, I think it should be that way, but in Cali the pay difference unfortunately is only in cents. I have heard rumors about the push for hiring nurses with BSN's vs ADN, but I have seen soo many ADN nurses getting hired, so I do not know how much of all that is true, or at least when it will become in full affect you know what I mean?
@Culli005 Thank you so much for your input, at the end of the day where they accept you is what matters, because it is so competitive!!

We should be hearing soon and I'm so ready!! LOL BSN's definitely get paid more. My mom just finished her RN to BSN bridge program and her pay went up a few dollars...and that is at a lower paying hospital here in GA. MOST of my friends that are going to nursing school here are going straight for their BSN. I feel like because it's becoming more popular to do that, the market will become even more saturated with BSN's....all the more reason to go for one the first time through! They'll hired a BSN before an RN, right??
