has anyone heard from LLU for Fall 2013???

Published

I was wondering when LLU will be inviting their applicants for an interview? Anyone who has been accepted, can you let me know the time frame of when the interview is and when you will be accepted for Fall? Thank you!!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks I will : )

Hey guys, I've been beating myself up over LL tuition. The program will be approx. $90,000. My fiancé is telling me it's not worth it but I think it is. Now my family is telling me to go to a community college or cal state. Since I don't know if I have been accepted, my family have been trying to convince me that LL is not worth the price. So stressed. I've been working so hard to apply to LL & now my loved ones are discouraging me.

I have financial problem too... My family is so proud of me that i've finished prerecs and applied to llu. But my parents can not pay for all of my tuition. So i do need to get loans for my tuition. I applied fafsa but i can not get cal grant because i did not graduate high school from the us. If i'm not accepted to llu for fall, i'm planning to work for a year so that i could make some money to pay my tuition. And i'm also thinking about applying community colleges. But i might not apply in la county.... :(

Hey girl...I got my financial aid letter last night. Yay!! But ouch!! It's definitely expensive but I was prepared for that...as soon as the wedding is over I'm going to start looking into private loans. Every year ppl manage to pay for and go to LLU so it can be done, right?? And it's our education. That's that's truly where you want to go, you should be able to! Especially since you've worked this hard! There are loan reimbursement plans out there too once you finish. It won't be easy or cheap, but you know it'll be worth it!❤

@hnbloy yeah working to save sounds like a good idea. Getting a cal grant is also competitive. I didn't qualify for a cal grant either.

@whitneylee. Thanks for the encouraging words! My fiancé says that with the amount i will owe after graduating, my paycheck is not going to be worth much. But LL is the school I want to go to since it is the ONLY school I applied to. I wonder how long it'll take to pay off tuition. I don't want to be 80 and still be paying off my loans... Lol

Hi ladies, yes I can imagine it will be alot.. I'm lucky to have family that tell me to just go, and we will figure it out on the way. I know everyone says it is not worth it because BSN nurses make almost the same as someone with their RN from a community college. You perhaps have to sacrifice maybe 5-10years to pay off loans, if you absolutely do not go crazy and splurge on everything. My bf of 5 years is applying to the Dental Hygiene program there, planning to get married right after we graduate so im thinking we are gonna be like 150k in the hole... but isnt it worth it? I do not know, I wonder back and forth. Makkara if you get in, then go, just take out loans, the job you will have at the end will be more than enough to pay off your loans rather quickly, but if you do not get in, then apply else where. Thats how I am looking at it. If i do not get in which the odds are against me if I do, then Im gonna keep on applying else where, til a door opens up. I have many friend who have graduated from llu, and yes their loans are crazy high but they do not regret it

many friends**, aahh now hearing this im second guessing myself! But we shall see, we find out in about 2 weeks right?

@steph, I've been confused about how BSN nurses get paid almost the same as ADN nurses.. It doesn't make any sense to me. What other schools were you thinking about applying to?

& your advice sounds like my best bet. If I don't get in for Fall at LL, then that's just another chance for me to apply to CSUSB. I'm still crossing my fingers for LL!

@Makkara, I've read on here the pay is very similar, and also nurses whom I met in person say that the differences is barley in a few more cents! BSN RN's just have a higher chance of getting into higher positions like management and so forth. But even then I have met nurses who just have their ADN with management position, so honestly I do not know. I just would love to be LL cause of what they stand for, I know I would be treated like family, instead of a number like you said in a previous post.

So far LL is the only place, IF I do not get in I will apply to RCC (highly doubt I would get in, cause they only take your first TEAS attempt) I scored pretty low =/

I will apply to San Bernardino Valley's program, and Chaffey's, also Mt. Sac's....I would start in winter so pretty much leaves me with a open semester doing nothing possibly just volunteering and working =/..I will even apply to the LVN programs and hopefully bridge into the RN program....If all else fails then I will just apply to Cal State San Ber get a degree in health and just try again at Loma Linda or another Accelerated program

I feel you though, inside I still want to go at LLU, like the previous girl mentioned, so many people go there that do not have thousands of dollars, but still make it through. I have 2 personal friends that are going there, and they are okay. I honestly think we will make enough to pay off loans quickly in the end. And there are lots of loan forgiveness programs out there, my friend said you seriously gotta hassle the financial aid department to let them give you the info lol, SO if there is a will there is away. I do think your gonna get in : ))

@ Steph, I don't want to sound ignorant, but I think BSN nurses should get paid a little more..

You got it all planned out! That's awesome! I was thinking about Mt sac last year. I know some people who are still on the waiting list. Mt sac started the GPA system barely last year. I called to ask to get a spot in the lottery, but I missed it by two weeks! Just my luck..

I don't want to worry so much about LL tuition because it is such an amazing school. I live with my fiancé's family, and now that I have a family of my own, I want to be able to afford our own place! There's no way my fiancé and I could afford a place when I have to pay off my loans. Sorry, I know that's irrelevant...lol. I am glad I vented on this post about tuition because I don't have any more second thoughts about it. LL is worth every penny. :)
